Greetings to all readers and writers of the wonderful Steem Skillshare community. Today we have another lesson of Funny English and we will talk about bears.

Let me remind you that we are studying English idioms and funny expressions at this small course.

Everyone knows that bears are dangerous animals, so many English idioms, associated with bears, also express danger. For example, the expression : AS CROSS AS A BEAR speaks for itself. This means that someone is very angry.

And here is another interesting expression: TO ESCAPE A BEAR AND FALL TO THE LION. This means that you avoided one problem, but immediately got into another one. Even bigger.

The next expression sounds: TO TAKE THE BEAR BY THE TOOTH. This means that you are leading yourself to danger or to a problem.

But some expressions related to bears are not dangerous, but funny. For example, the idiom : BEAR GARDEN. It denotes a noisy gathering.

Do you like noisy gatherings? I don't. If I go there I am as cross as a bear. For me such bear garden is the same as if I am* taking the bear by the tooth*.
