Steem Cameroon Contest - Human Rights Day (Pakistan)
Assalam o Alaikum everyone! I hope you will be well and good by the grace of Almighty Allah who is the most merciful and gracious to everyone.
Today I am here to participate in a contest organized by @steem-cameroon about the national or international day. If you haven't joined it yet and you wanted to join it then join and share your thoughts here.

Human Rights Day is a specific day to raise awareness about the rights of humans. It shed light at the sacrifices and the rights of the humans which they deserve. It enlists the rights which the humans are not getting or some authorities have deprived them from getting their basic rights. Human rights is an international day which is celebrated each year on 10th December. This is the month of December. The human rights day is coming within 4 days. Human rights day will be celebrated on Sunday in this current year. It tells the importance and value of human rights.
The origin of this day is United Nations General Assembly. The United Nations General Assembly declared Human Rights Day on 10th December, 1948 and it is celebrated on this day in the whole universe. This historical day highlights the fundamental rights and freedoms of all the persons. It protects the basic rights of all persons. It works for the protection of human rights regardless of the race and other factors. It gives the same rights to all the people without seeing their specialities.
How do you or your country or your organization celebrate the day? (50–100 words)
Human rights day is an international day which is celebrated in the whole world. Similarly in my country this day is also celebrated with great excitement. Many organizations and institutions run campaigns about the human rights day. Different institutions and individuals organize events for the celebration of the human rights day. Different conferences and workshops take place. These conferences educate people about their rights. These empower them to stand up against any form of discrimination or injustice about the rights of humans. These activities foster dialogue between the community. These events increase understanding and solidarity among communities.
Educational institutions organise special events for the students. There occur different competitions and seminars with the topic of human rights. Parents of the students are also invited to join these special events organised for the human rights awareness. Students prepare different speeches with the topic of human rights. In these seminars human rights are explained so that every person should be aware of its specific rights.
In my country human rights day is celebrated with love and dedication. Some of the celebrations are given below:
- Public Gatherings: People are gathered at the public places for the celebration of the human rights day. Everyone give it's opinion for the protection of the human rights.
- Seminars and Workshops: seminars are held in different places specifically in the education institutions to raise awareness about the respect and rights of humans. The topics are about the equality of people.
- Panel Discussions: Experts participate in the panels discussion and share their thoughts about the challenges of humans rights and how we can cope with these problems.
- Cultural Performances: Different performances are given such as plays and music concerts to raise the issues of humans and for the development of a peaceful society.
- Art Exhibitions: Arts and drawings are used which shows the importance of human rights. These visuals are very effective.
- Media Campaigns: Different campaigns about the human rights are made at the electronic as well as at the print media. Their aim is to provide information about human rights to the general public.
These are just a few examples of how my country Pakistan celebrates Human Rights Day.
What impact does your community gain during and after the commemoration? (50–100 words)
Human Rights Day leaves a lot of deep impacts for the whole community. It serves as a platform for activists and organizations. It provides a platform to individuals to speak about human rights. It makes the community able to speak against the abuses of human rights. This day give strength to the whole community to fight for the availability of human rights and advocate for justice. This day addresses a number of unknown issues. Because of this day people become able to get the knowledge about their rights which they did not know. It raises the spirit of the community to raise their hands to get their deserving rights.
This day shed light on the equality of all the people. It tells that all humans have equal rights and respect irrespective of colour and creed. All the community becomes able to learn about gender equality as well. Its impacts are long lasting and people get freedom of expressing their problems and for demanding their solutions. It tells that every person should be treated equally whether it is a common man or a person at specific rank. It raises awareness that rules and regulations and laws must be applied equally for all the people. As we see that the laws are applied to the poor people and the rich get rid of the laws so it tells that the laws must be the same for the poor as well as for the rich.
Human Rights Day is the day for the protection of the rights of humans. It raises awareness that the protection of human rights is not the responsibility of governments. It teaches the whole community to take action on their own for the promotion and protection of human rights. The community should preach the basic rights of the humans so that everyone can be aware of their basic rights. This promotion can be done through simple acts. As we know that charity begins at home similarly when we will start bahing others with kindness and respect, it will obviously be the promotion of these good deeds which is the right of all humans that they almost be tested with love and respect. We should understand each other. It challenges the discrimination of the human rights.
What issue or concern will you recommend being commemorated this week and on what date?
As I have discussed about human rights, I will recommend the protection of human rights on its international day. As we know that the injustice of human rights is the most common and global issue. Many humans are deprived of their basic rights. The poor people are not getting their deserving rights and they are facing the injustice while the rich group of people are availing all the rights by ignoring and eaten the rights of poor people. I want to raise my hand that they should be the equality in the distribution of all the available resources between all the humans. Education is the basic need and right if every human but some cruel authorities in the world especially in the ghetto areas are not allowing the poor people to get education.
I want that these issues should be raised on 10 December, 2023 on Sunday. The human rights organisations check the areas and they should help the people to get their rights which they are not getting. I also support the equality between the people and in the distribution of the resources and rights between people of all races and colours.
Conclusion
Human Rights Day highlights the significance of human rights. This day emphasizes the need for the protection of human rights. It is a day to celebrate the progress made about human rights. It raises awareness about ongoing challenges of humans. It inspires the positive change. If we all work collectively then we can work towards a world of peace and calm. The world where every individual's rights are respected. It will be the world where equality, justice and dignity prevail. So guys we should not only raise awareness about human rights but always preach about human rights, about their respect and dignity.
