I am so happy to be part of this week contest in the @steem-cameroon community, and the theme of the contest is National or International Awareness Day.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT WORLD TUNA DAY?

World Tuna day is always Celebrated every year on 2^nd May so as to raise awareness about the essentials of sustainable management of tuna and also to promote a good fishing practice.

World Tuna day which is 2^nd of May was officially designated by the united nation general assembly in December 2016.
Tuna is a species of fish which is widely consume around the world because it provides and important source of protein and other essential nutrients to millions of people.

So because of the important of Tuna, over fishing and unsustainable fishing practice has reduced the tuna population in so many areas.
World Tuna day helps in reminding people the need for responsible fishing practices and also in knowing how to manage Tuna stocks.

HOW DO YOU OR YOUR COUNTRY OR ORGANISATION CELEBRATE THE DAY?

Though all the countries and state have their own different ways of Celebrating World Tuna day depending on their local customs and traditions.

But in my community that i am staying in Nigeria we hold events or activities in other to raise awareness about important of Tuna fisheries and responsible ways of fishing and this can be done by community gathering and giving out lectures by experts in the field.

And on that day a lot of seafood will be promoted by restorants and stores, and also no fishing is always allow that particular day.

WHAT IMPACT DOES YOUR COMMUNITY GAIN DURING AND AFTER WORLD TUNA DAY?

During world tuna day, my community always participate in various activities to celebrate and to help raise awareness of the essentials of sustainable fishing practices.

And also during that day, things like market, parties or any ceremony won't be held that day, everything that is supposed to take place that day will be postpone to another day because of World Tuna day.

WHAT ISSUES OR CONCERN WILL YOU RECOMMEND TO BE COMMEMORATED THIS WEEK AND ON WHAT DATE?

I would like to recommend 6^th May as world remembrance day, which we would use in Celebrating and remembering our love once who has past away.
