SEC-S18W5 | Traveling and enjoying with kids | Cockington Green Garden- Miniature buildings
I would like to invite @saintkelvin17 @dexsyluz and @goodybest to show us their trip with kids.
In general words: How is your previous experience by traveling with kids? They can be sons/daughters, nieces, cousins, neighbors or little friends.
Traveling alone is very easy because one has the freedom to do things according to his choice. I generally do travel solo or with my wife but if we plan a trip with our relatives or neighbors children, then we don't mind going with them and enjoying the trips. During the last few months, we joined a couple of such trips organized by the community curators of our CBD Garran, and we had a lot of fun.
If you have the opportunity to travel with them, where do you plan to get them? Might be parks, natural spots or attractions.
However, when we travel with families and children, we have to plan the trip keeping in mind their likes and dislikes. Especially if we are planning to travel with children, then we have to think even more carefully and add such places to the list where the children do not get bored and they also get new things to learn.
Coincidentally, we got a chance to visit Cockington Green Garden on Easter Sun, 31 March 2024, which was organized by the community curator of Garran, a lady from Israel who often plans and leads such trips. This place Cockington Green Garden is in Canberra, but in some way, it is a replica of an English village that is in Devon, England.
A little history about it is that originally this garden was an exact copy of an English garden, but later an international section was added to it and it was transformed. As I said, we went there last Easter and enjoyed this day trip a lot.
What was the memorable anecdotal fact with children in the trip?
First of all, it started with Easter Bunnies, when all of us had a photo session with them at the entrance itself, and yours truly also joined in the fun. They gave chocolates to each kid.
Most of the miniature buildings are exact replicas of the original buildings, with similar surroundings created around them. and made of clay and heated to make them strong, then painted in their original colors.
Please provide some great pictures about it if you have them.
Sure, I took about 200 pictures using my cameras and phones, but it's not possible to post them all, so I will post about 30 or so selected pictures to give you an idea of the place. Incidentally, I have used two pictures on Steemit before, but these two are crucial pictures, so I will repost them in this post.
First of all, I will show you a garden that is amazing and like a quiz, and most people ask, "Is it a real lawn?" and when they hear in the affirmative, they ask, "How do you mow them?"
There are hundreds of places that attract children big time and some of them are miniature trains and ships that keep moving all the time the park is open.
Then you have a mini golf course to attract children who stand there watching mini players playing golf.
Then you have Dynasore Park which is another main attraction of the park and children don't want to come out of this area.
The park is full of miniature famous buildings which look like real buildings unless I tell you that these are not full sized buildings but miniature.
Check out more
Now we enter into the International section which was added later with exact replicas of famous buildings of different countries of the world.
We had children from different countries in our group so all of them went to their respective countries first. So did I as I went in front of the Red Fort in Delhi and took a selfie.
As I said in the beginning I took hundreds of images but from now on I will give you a few famous images which were popular among the children in our group. As per the rules of the land I am not supposed to show you the faces of children without their parental permission I will only give you the images of the buildings.
This is a famous church in Ukraine
This one is a South Korean building that had a large crowd in front of it.
This miniature building is in Peru
This building is a miniature of a building from Mexico
If I remember right this building is from Turkey. I have at least 150 more buildings in my album but now I will show you a park.
Finally, it's time to redeem the points the kids did their homework by noting down what they saw in the park. Every kid got a gift according to the lists they presented to the judges.
In the end, I will give you the entrance fee extra which is mentioned on this board so in case you happen to be there you know everything in advance. By the way, we paid no entrance fee as we were guests of the Israeli lady who collects AUD100 every month for the benefit of the children's fund of Garran CBD.

Greetings sir, the garden is so big and amazing, I really enjoyed reading your post and I didn't want the post to end, I kept on reading and scrolling, having the fear that I don't see your hashtags soon, which is at the end of your post but I finally saw it and later smiled because is impossible to read your post forever 😂.
The most shocking part in this post was when you said you took more than 200 pictures that day 😳, that's too much, I haven't done such a thing before but I guess I will do it one day.
The park is really nice and I felt as if I was inside the park while reading your post until this 👇brought me back to reality.
You need to also see the way I was seriously looking for Nigeria's flag in the international display board at the entrance 😂😂. I wish you good luck sir.
I guess there is a list of all the buildings in the form of their flags. I took more than 200 pictures and a few came to me via WhatsApp by my wife but I don't think anyone would want to watch that many in one one post! Thank you!
Yh is good you too numerous pictures anyway, at least ehage posted them here and they have increased the quality of your post. Happy new week sir.

My dear friend I can see you Have wonderful time in Cockington Green Garden on Easter Sun, the selfies with Easter bunnies and the other pictures shows it was wonderful trip.
Yeah I guess we all loved to have pictures in trip which later on become memories for us.
Good day
Traveling alone or with our partner is ideal because we have everything planned friend and more adjusted to our comfort, but since the trip is with children we must have a good organization for the comfort of the children where they do not feel bored and enjoy the trip.
But surely traveling with you is ideal because of the good planning for everything and even more so going to a place like the one you share with us where everyone had a good time and with many photos to share.
Saludos 👍🇻🇪
That's right! A visit with children is an altogether different experience that gets interesting when the kids asked strange questions and their curiosity makes things even more interesting and sometimes funny but that's always worth visiting with them.
Upvoted. Thank You for sending some of your rewards to @null. It will make Steem stronger.
Saludos amigo.
