It's a pleasure for me
There is a saying that opportunity doesn’t knock at your door and announces itself. Well, it is the opposite when it comes to pleasure. Pleasure is the one thing that knocks all the time. We just need to open the door.
There is not one of us who doesn't experience the simple pleasures that life brings us: the taste of a delicious meal, the sight of a beautiful sunrise or sunset, the feel of the warm sun on our skin, oh yes, and the love for our family.
At first, the love for our parents, then our siblings, and later in the years, our partners, and then those adorable children.
I am convinced that most of you will agree with me that children are truly precious and invaluable members of our society. Their innocence, boundless enthusiasm, curiosity, and endless energy are constant sources of joy, inspiration, and pleasure.
I never wanted my own children, yet I adored kids and was always babysitting the kids of family and family friends. It was only when my son was born that I truly experienced love for children. I was hooked.
Make no mistake, I didn’t want a cricket or football team of my own. No, I only wanted my own two and to enjoy the children of others.
It was with a pair of fresh eyes that I started to see the world in a completely different manner.
I became a Sunday school teacher, helped with Scouts, and became a cricket umpire. And that was also when I discovered what a pleasure life is for me… children.
The laughter of children always filled our home, as there were always kids sleeping over.
Then my children grew up, and so did their friends. I was also no longer involved with the children at school or Sunday school. I had a new friend, my camera.
Although I love taking landscape photos, I soon found myself looking for feelings and expressions in the faces of kids and their body language taking photos that they are not aware of.
Now I am a granny, the biggest gift I could have asked for. Through my grandchildren, I have learned that children not only have the ability to brighten our moods and fill our hearts, but they also carry hope and the start of a new beginning.
I'm sure that you will agree with me that in a world that can sometimes feel jaded and cold, it is them that are our most precious commodity. The change our lives!
I still find it a pleasure to take those photos. Photos that they don’t know that I am taking. Now that they are bigger, it often goes with that “Ag ouma!’’ (Awh granny) but in the same breath, they ask me to send the photos to them.
Another person who found pleasure in children was Nelson Mandela. I will never forget his following words. “History will judge us by the difference we make in the everyday lives of children.”

Every person's pleasure is different, we are the ones who create it and even simple pleasures can be pleasure. What we need to do is always be grateful and enjoy it.
You are right ma'am, children are endless joy and happiness, they are the source of happiness and enthusiasm for our lives. I don't need to look for fun outside the house, because that fun is in our children. Thank you ma'am for the invitation, I hope beautiful things and blessings are always with you😇.
Yip! The fun is right under our noses! We don't need to look far. Kids can be challenging, but their presence outweighs the challenges.
