My ArtVenture: Soft pastel portrait "Mr. Worf"
Hello my dear Steemians,
After a long time I have free weekend and that is a reason why I decided to finish the portrait that I started few weeks ago. I actually decided to do again drawings and my decision was to go for colourful one, of course, using pastel is the best for portrait because they are very vibrant and give nice colourful result.
In the past I tried both soft pastel and oil pastel, I love soft pastel more because it is easier to control and also easier to blend. Oil pastel often like wax and give dark result of it.
Couple of weeks ago we were watching a new Serie "Picard", those of you who are the fans of "Star Trek" or Trekkies are people who are fans of Star Trek, of course we are too, maybe my hubby more than me but we still enjoying watching it together. Since Picard came we see how the actors who played before playing now.
When we saw Mr. Worf his character was the best also funny thing was that he loves chamomile tea, so the decision was easy just to make his portrait.
I hope you enjoyed my drawing and wishing you nice rest of weekend
Hey @stef1, I liked your neat & clean style of mounting board,
arranging pencils & rubbers & the way you took the pictures of process too...
Final result too with all above attributes...
Kudos.
Hi @djvijay, thank you for your compliments, this is my favourite board that I use for drawing and painting. Often I do it on table rather than on easel. I remember in the past I did not do the photos but since I started to do that also gives me an opportunity to see the stages and also to analyse.
Thank you for visiting my post. By the way, it seems there is no much that you are posting recently, but I am glad that you at least commenting. Hope you and your wife are both doing well.
Looks awesome, your drawing skills are next level.
Star Trek was the first thing that went through my mind when I saw the thumbnail. Clicked to read and confirm my guess :)
Thank you Ady, portrait were always my favourite subject and my aim was to do it as realistic as possible. I am glad that I managed to finish it this weekend. Star Trek is something that I also slowly fell in love with.
@stef1. This is so cool. Nice knowing that you had in you the blood of an artist. FYI, this article is now being scheduled for featuring on our WOX channel on Telegram, https://t.me/woxchannel.

Gran trabajo amiga.
Hi @joslud, thank you for your nice comment. It is always a consideration how and what colours to choose, I actually was wondering what to choose for eyes. I did not want dark eyes as then the character would be less interesting. This choice of blue and dark blue worked good with red and dark red. I was pleased with the result :)
Nice work, dear.
I am not an observer of painting, but I love art, especially the art of drawing.
Unfortunately I don't have any talent in this job. The only thing I could do was admire other people's work. I have always had admiration for your work.
The painting "Mr. Worf" looks very identical to the original. Only the color is slightly different. But both look very beautiful and has vivid colors.
Regards,
Thank you @chefdanie for your nice words. Do you know that many great Artists were not born like that but became due to their practicing? There, never give up and there is always a chance that might get better :)
Yes I believe in your words,, practice is the best way to grow. But unfortunately here it is difficult to find someone who can become an art teacher.
Thank you very much for your kind response,, I will remember it as a valuable lesson 🤗
This is really looking so beautiful I must confess. Your drawing skills is really top notch and actually worth admiring I must truly confess. You must have certainly invested so much of time and effort in this
Thank you, I love drawing and I wish I had more time for that, maybe while on my days off :)
