Goodies tray! Anyone?

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 months ago

What do you think makes a better gift? Cash, goodies, or practical items? Let's keep it realistic.

we're not exactly swimming in Ambani-level wealth here. I'm still in awe after those IG reels which showed his son's pre-wedding. You are free to Google the details or use whatever search engine you prefer.

Let's talk small-scale surprises.

something like this

We had a birthday coming up for a mutual friend of mine and @event-horizon's, and we thought of putting together a small gift along with a cake. No, I'm not making the cake myself. The cake-man is back in action.

I received help from Hira in choosing this tray. She is such a sweetheart. She video called me from our small gift shop here.

isn't it lovely! @event-horizon helped pick this up

When I got the tray, I murmured, 'It kind of looks empty. I should add something to it.' So, as an afterthought, I decided, 'Let's add goodies to it and make it a gift hamper kind of thing.' You know I'm an idea generator.

Once again, my call of cry for @event-horizon. She was visiting her hometown, so she brought back these goodies.

I think these assorted goodies make a good hamper. There's a nice variety. Personally, it makes me very happy to receive something like this. Cash prize or even an item for personal use may not get this amount of endorphins and dopamines out of me.

Now, I could finally proceed to gather these assorted goodies and arrange them beautifully in the tray to create a charming gift hamper!

I tied a bow like this earlier

Nah! Didn't like it this arrangement of net...

So I did it in another way...

👆 A little demo how I used net for packing it.
Made a knot, and secured it with a rubber band.

Made a bun and secured it with an other rubber band. Tie a ribbon on it. Voilà it's done. Easy peasy.

It looks so pretty 😍

The cake man did a wonderful job. And together, a clan of us three ladies went to surprise our mutual friend. A little elf told her about our plans, and we were greeted with a look of surprise and a lovely tea:

I'm in love with this blue teapot and tea cups. This is our traditional blue pottery from the city of Multan. The hostess has really good taste in crockery.

Our friend loved everything from the tray to the cake. It's moments like these that remind us of the importance of cherishing simple pleasures and spreading joy. Here's to celebrating life's little joys now and then!

Take care and keep celebrating life's beautiful moments!

Signing off,
Yours,

The gift turned out to be very cool, I liked it. It is clear that a person with a sense of taste put her hand to the composition 😉.

Your traditional blue porcelain looks lovely. Perhaps this is the classic that always remains relevant.

Thank you so much! I will take this compliment to heart with open arms :)

And yes, traditional blue porcelain has a timeless charm, doesn't it? I wish I could present you with some of these!

I wish I could present you with some of these!

I believe that our platform is a great place to share our traditions and culture. Some authors do not know what to write posts about. We live in different parts of the world, topics for posts are right under our noses. Yes, maybe your compatriots will not be interested in reading about, say, blue porcelain, but it would be interesting for us, people of other cultures. So, if you want to dedicate an entire post to blue porcelain or any other custom or holiday or tradition of yours, I'd love to read it 😀

Thank you! I've already prepared a rough draft to provide you (and my readers) with a detailed account of famous blue or 'Kashi' pottery! I'll do my best to ensure it's informative and interesting!

I hope I did justice to it 🤞

Thank you so much for stopping by...

I hope you can get some ideas from this. Although internet is always swarming with such ideas, but a personal touch is always bound to make a profound effect :)

What a colourful and happy post !

I want some butter cookies. 🤤

I think it's always about the gesture not the presents.

I won't mind a present from you. The gesture + present...
I hinted a little this time too, when you sent me the pictures... 🙈

Oops... I'm bad at taking hints.
But any time and anything for you.

Haha
Just kidding...

Wow
Happy Easter to you too.

Your basket is so lovely.
I'm curious about the edible grass though 🧐

Oh I also like cash, gifts, ..., dowries, you know the usual stuff

Who doesn't 😉

So how do you eat this grass??
In salads or raw?

It is candy. One eats it like string candy

Oh, I see

Thank you for the explanation ☺️

It all depends on the person what the best gift is.
It's nearly my son's birthday it will be goodies, something useful and money (to save or what he likes to buy). I bake the pies/cakes myself.

I know a friend goes for goodies only, my youngest for books, goodies + money, another daughter always makes a wish list she does not like money to receive or give.

Your gift looks great!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and reflect on your idea of the "best gift." I'm sure you bake scrumptious cakes and pies :)

You are correct; everyone has different preferences for gifts. However, the element of surprise is always a game changer... 😉

I learned it isn't to many that element of surprise I mean. Even if people say they don't care they do and it shows. It's not like my grandmother saving the boxes of chocolate passing them to someone else (don't ask how old some were and coloured) or the bottles with perfume (many still do this or sell it on the internet or...throw it away).

Polite in the face and if not the disappointment is shown.

A present that doesn't fit to the one it is meant for is a sign you do not really know this person. Some say it's easy to give money, others to quickly buy something and money makes a better present (I would never give money to someone who smokes, drinks or is an addict). It's as if nothing is easy these days and I do not like to waste my money.
So if I don't know I ask or observe the likes. These days I changed if I'm not sure I say: if you don't like it I keep it because I do. 🥳

I like baking more than cooking these days just the oven can spoil it (no thermostat and temp keeps going up) and the quality of the gas became bad (hard to use for cooking).

I already bought my son coffee beans and dark chocolate so he can drink coffee if he likes and make his own chocolate-coffee beans. He loves them. Perhaps I can find peanuts to make peanut-chocolate rocks as well. He's happy with everything and easy to please so I keep an eye on him since these people are the first to be forgotten.

Bye for now. 🍀❤️

You went to a lot of effort and presented the present so lovingly...! The birthday girl can't help but love you ;-))

I don't usually give material gifts myself. Rather experiences - going to a concert, a motorboat trip, a night hike,...

Thank you:) yes she loved it 😍

Rather experiences - going to a concert, ...

When are you going to take me on one? 😉🫣

I think that's a really nice approach! I also like to mix things up... But we don't have many options here, so these things will have to work. Plus a concert ticket is really expensive, so yeah 😆

I know I've already spent a few fortunes on concert tickets ;-)) However, we also go to "hat concerts" where admission is free and you end up collecting for the artist...

Events like night walks, apart from perhaps travelling or preparing for picnics etc., are free and unforgettable at the same time.

I once celebrated my birthday with my children at a lake when they were still quite small. We had travelled there the evening before, with sleeping bags, blankets and a campfire on the beach. It was cosy and adventurous to sleep under the stars. In the morning, when we woke up relatively early, a family of nutria had made themselves comfortable between the sleeping bags ;-))) Sweet as sugar!
Money can't buy it...

Luxury items! an expensive pleasurable and pure excess, that a person would not obtain himself!

Thank goodness you noticed...

I thought I was the only one finding Miss Teapot's character so theatrically dramatic...

Thanks for pointing that out!

The whole tea set is interestingly coloured, but the teapot stands out for its shape and character ))
