Macrophotography - Schizophyllum commune Fungi
Schizophyllum commune is a species of fungus in the genus Schizophyllum . This mushroom resembles a tight coral wave or a loose Chinese fan. “Gillies” or “split gills” vary in color from creamy yellow to off-white. The cap is small, 1–4 centimeters ( 3 ⁄ 8 – 1+5 ⁄ 8 in Wide) with a dense but springy body texture. This mushroom is known as the split gill mushroom due to the unique property of the " gills " which are divided lengthwise on the underside of the mushroom cap. This fungus is found all over the world.
In @sultan-aceh's durian garden, a calm morning atmosphere greets your steps. The distinctive aroma of ripe durian fruit fills the air, while the morning sunlight penetrates the leaves and forms stunning light patterns. With macro photography equipment in hand, I begin your adventure to explore the beauty of Schizophyllum commune, a type of fungus that often grows in damp environments.
Under the canopy of a durian tree, I found a small colony of Schizophyllum commune attached to an old log. This mushroom is known for its unique shape, like a small multi-layered umbrella. Carefully, you adjust the macro camera to capture the fine details of the mushroom's texture and structure.
Every camera click reveals micro-magic hidden in plain sight. I observed how the fine fibers on the surface of the mushroom shone in the sunlight, and how its open fan-like shape displayed a stunning geometric beauty. In this process, I learned a lot about macro techniques, from precise focus settings to ideal lighting to highlight small details.
Patiently and curiously, I continued to explore the durian garden, discovering new perspectives and capturing the beauty of the Schizophyllum commune mushroom. Your photos not only record microscopic beauty but also reveal the harmonious relationship between nature and the durian garden ecosystem which is rich in life.
As the sun rose higher, I finished with the day's photography session, feeling satisfied with my new discoveries and understanding of macro photography. The @sultan-aceh durian garden has given me more than just durian fruit; it also gives you an immersive experience of the unexpected beauty of the micro-world.
