Weekly Contest, "Playing photographer #5 / Bugs and leaves.
Hello to all friends of the WOX community and nature lovers.
Today we went out in the forest and discovered a bug called Codophila varia or "variable bug" which turned out to be a Nymph. A nymph is the pre-adult stage, it does not yet have gonads or wings. They will transform into an adult or Imago after several moults.
The bug belongs to the order Hemiptera, and Cicadas and Aphids are close relatives.
To photograph it I used a Pergear macro lens mounted on a Fujifilm X-E2 and a lot of patience. Patience goes hand in hand with nature photography. I am usually quite impatient but for some unknown reason I can spend hours photographing bugs until I get a good shot.
The forest is at its best time to photograph it, dry leaves, moss, it's already mushroom season but we didn't see any mushrooms yet.
The carob leaves were on the ground and I was looking for different shapes and colours to make an autumn collage.
The photographic edition process was done in Photoshop and this is the result:
Greetings from the forest,
Silvia.
