Lunch In Anduze

Crepes, the large and incredibly thin pancakes, are traditionally French and often grabbed on the go for just under 10 Steem with not too much of white sugar sprinkled on top.

I am personally a huge fan of the savoury crepes, which make a heathy lunch.

They are usually served with fresh salad on the side with a mayonnaise and whole grain mustard light dressing.

The crepe I ordered here in Le Petit Jardin just opposite the town hall in Anduze is the pure classic with lots of ham and cheese and flavoured with fresh finely chopped parsley.

The whole thing is folded nicely and appears as an edible envelope priced at 42 Steem.

What I love about it the most is its golden stamp. Yes, you got this, that’s the egg in the middle, runny, just a yolk, extra large. But here comes the difficult bit about it as you should guard it from the rest on the table.

They all reach out for the sliced toasted baguette in the middle of the table and attempt to dip some of it in. I suggest you get a bite of their lunch in exchange for such a treat.

Lunch in France, especially when on holiday is a big thing accompanied by an alcoholic drink if you’re an adult who doesn’t have to drive straight after.

This can be anything from just a shandy that I went for to half a litre of rose or white wine brought to you in a chilled glass container which looks like a vase but is known as a carafe.

Time doesn’t matter as you can keep the table for as long as you wish.

Your friendly waiter of course speaking and understanding only French down here in this quaint town will come around and offer you coffee and pudding, including even a banana split which is often kids favourite. I love an eclair though as I find chocolate mousse irresistible.
