If Fireworks Were A Flower!

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago

Pretty and pink are two things my camera is easily attracted to. This angelic flower resembles so many things. Exploding firework to begin with which we started hearing and seeing every evening now with Guy Fawkes night just around the corner. This is on the 5th of November when traditionally fireworks are set off in England. I already bought twenty giant sparklers, the last pack actually from my local supermarket. I might even cook come chilli. Then I will probably end up posting some photos of it here. I will see what the weekend has for me really.

This delicate flower also looks like a nice earring, not to say that I have such a pair. It reminds me of the tail of a unicorn which is as real as it can ever get when you are wandering around the streets of Helsinki in Finland in summer with the sky not being pitch black till around midnight. It also reminds me of zero sugar (I wish!) candy floss when you lick it. It can also be a good looking but rubbish duster imported from China and now resting on the shelves of your local Poundstretcher shop. It can easily also be a soft brush which you use to apply some powder blush on your cheeks but as the temperature here has dropped suddenly you can easily give this a miss. Like it or not the chilly weather makes your cheeks rosy anyway.

So this pink beauty lives in a glass house. I certainly don’t. But I often pop in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, here in London to admire this and many other exotic flowers. Leave people outside who don’t enjoy the heat and have a wipe handy as your camera lens will start sweating in just a little while.

Don’t be shy and please shout out in the comments below what you make of this pink flower! Take it easy and let your imagination do its thing. Don’t worry if you tried and you still don't see anything else but a pink flower. This is what it actually is in the end of the day. 'Calliandra emarginata' is its botanical name and it is commonly know as a pink powder puff or a tassel flower.

Hi @petface! Beautiful flower and so delicate, it really is like fluff. Yes, it reminds me of a nice earring too.
You remembered a summer night in Helsinki, Finland. Here is a photo

I took a few years ago in Helsinki in this period

🤩 I am glad that my post brought up nice memories for you @leylar I love how you captured the summer sun in all its colours. My favourite replies are the ones with photos attached so thank you for sharing this one with me. I also like where you took it, it’s always great to leave the cityscape behind. When I was in Helsinki, I fell in love with the island of Suomenlinna. Maybe you’ve been there too?

I was near the island of Suomenlinna.🤔 😊

I visited the island of Seurasaari. 😀

Stunning photos @leylar 👏 I went there too! I was there on a bank holiday weekend at the end of May. However over there in Finland it was just a regular Monday. So I walked nearly an hour and a half to Seurasaari. I stocked up on drinks and snacks half way through. I expected to enjoy a lively authentic establishment, however I was able to see and photo just a few men and women in traditional outfits. I saw many seabirds and sunbathed on a huge rock overlocking a father and son fishing. I will visit Seurasaari again just next time I will choose to be there on a weekend. Have you been further north in Finland, all the way to Lapland maybe to see the Northern Lights?

Una flor muy hermosa llena de delicados pétalos delgados. Mucho éxito en el reto. @petface

Thank you ever so much @sacra97 I am glad that you like this pink flower which was actually a bit of a challenge to photo because of all its stamens 📸 I really like the flower contest and I am pleased to see that it is so popular! I also wish you my friend all the best of luck in the competition!

Greetings friend @petface

The flowers have a great diversity of shapes and colors, but without losing that natural beauty that perplexes those who notice their presence, good photos on this sparkling flower.

Thank you for your entry to the contest,

Greetings @adeljose Pleasure is all mine and thank you for confirming my contest entry! I can’t agree with you more in regards to the flowers which surround us. They pleasantly surprise us with their appearance in all the colours of the rainbow 💁‍♀️

Such a lovely, gentle flower. It's amazing what Mother Nature can create. Nice photos, @petface.

Thank you ever so much @zorank Now especially with the weather being not as warm and sunny anymore here in Europe I think that we all need a bit more of Mother Nature in all its stunning bright colours. I find such photos a pretty escape from the sometimes just grey and gloomy late autumn days.

Hi @petface, I really enjoyed your creative analogies to this beautiful flower 🤗 Certainly, this flower not only makes us feel good but also inspires us. When I read the word unicorn, I fell into my dreams. I had bought new canvases and was thinking about the paintings I would draw, @leveuf presented the idea of mythological animals. This idea is very interesting. Now, looking at your post after this conversation, I thought that I could draw a unicorn or a pegasus, I've drawn a horse before, and I love it. Your flower inspired me 🌸

Hi @serap It is always nice to hear from you and I am pleased that this flower post of mine inspired you to consider painting a horse like creature. This is exactly why I love being on Steemit which gives us the opportunity to get creative together. I am sure that you will make a good use of the new canvases and I look forward to seeing your painting. I am curious what colours you will choose to use for your hours like creature 😊

I really liked this perspective of "getting creative together". Maybe the paintings I will draw can inspire you on a different idea, who knows :)

This certainly is very likely! I scrolled further down and looked at some of your previous posts. I love the many photos you share with us showing us step by step the process of painting. I like the colours which you used in Vacation Mode and everything about the Shining Woman which is a painting I would definitely consider hanging in my house somewhere near my dressing table for instance 💁‍♀️

Thank you so much for your wonderful and motivating comment 💕 Especially that you wanted to see my painting on your wall made me very happy 🤗 In my paintings, I usually am not conditioned myself that my next painting will be this. I decide the next painting according to my mood. I think drawing with feeling gives better results 😊

You are more than welcome 💁‍♀️ I mean every word of it! I can’t agree with you more in regards to being driven by emotions when creating pieces of art. We are devoted and have an eye for things not many do. Any sort of emotion is fantastic for creating some wonderful painting, story or photo shoot even anger which probably then the majority of people will see as the very opposite 🙃 That’s why we just need to stay true to ourselves and keep creating.

Thanks for your great comment, my friend 🤗

Any sort of emotion is fantastic for creating some wonderful painting, story or photoshoot

Your sentence is so true. Art should not be made without emotion. No matter what emotion art is made with, feelings feed it. There is no rest for the weary 💃🏻

Thanks for stopping by @dianadee I am really glad that you like the flower! Mother Nature is such a great artist 👩‍🎨

Love the variety of colors and shades in the many flowers we come accross every day.I never get tired of nature, as it changes all the time with beautiful backdrops such as mountains, fields and blue sky:)😊🐞

Same here @dianadee Nature recharges my batteries and I love being surrounded by it, the more often the better. I quite like the 🐞emoji which you included in your reply. It actually reminded me of fantastic photos of a hibernating ladybird I took. I may well post here a few of them some time 🔜

Going for a walk in the wide open spaces is so good for all. You sense a feeling of well being and sense of purpose :) @petface
