#club5050 The Big Garden Project (Power Up 141 Steem)

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago

I finished planting for today and I couldn’t wait to share my photos and thoughts on such a fantastic day spent in the garden.

My auntie’s garden has been totally transformed during the past month.

The landscaping started on 1st of March and there are still a few more things that need finishing.

So at least four more days the gardeners will be working out here making the outdoor space prettier and more functional.

I love the curves rather than just boring straight lines and sharp edges.

There is a brand new pergola now here which will be well enjoyed in summer. There will be a few steps leading you comfortably to the upper level.

Eight tons of top soil got delivered here this Thursday. Three of us planted more than eighty plants and trees and there are still more to be planted.

Here on the upper level we positioned a few different varieties of acer which will look stunning in autumn. We also put solar lights under each tree and turned them on. Once charged they will light up the acers when it gets dark.

We also planted a wisteria, a grapevine, a plum tree and a clematis. Lilies, foxgloves and wonderful grasses which the wind is already playing with found a home here too.

Teas, coffee and biscuits were brought out for the three of us on the gardening team.

Even whilst having a little sit down to have the hot drinks we kept brainstorming and coming up with more and more ideas of what else can be done and would look stunning in the garden.

We created a woodland area as well using a few different varieties of fern scattered amongst blanda anemones and lilies of the valley.

We are also considering creating a rock garden featuring some of the amphoras and shells which were at the bottom of the pond that we got rid of.

After such a busy but really enjoyable day with my family a bath before tea was something I really appreciated.

I hope you are also pleased with how your weekend went. Did you also do a bit of gardening?

I am also glad that I powered up 141 Steem and below is a screenshot of this vital transaction here on the platform.

Greetings friend @petface

Great job you are doing planting so many plants, it is looking great. A good bath is always needed after a hard day's work.

Nice post

Greetings @adeljose and thanks for stopping by. I am really glad that you like my gardening post. It was a busy day out there in the garden. I can't wait to see how the plants are doing in a few months from now. I suppose I will post an update on my auntie's garden sometime this summer. Have a great start of the week and see you around.

One of the great things about living at home is THIS!
It's spectacular to be able to have a garden and do the things you love to do. The work you are doing is great @petface . I hope your effort makes your aunt happy!
Cheers!!

Good afternoon @esthersanchez My auntie really appreciated the help. I got her into birdwatching too. We hung another bird feeder and she bought a bird bath too. I am just about to recommend her a great book about identifying the British birds. She will also make a start on growing vegetables in two raised beds. She also got an obelisk for runner beans. I will make sure I post again about her garden and how we are getting on. Enjoy the rest of the day my friend.

That is a great experience. I look forward to seeing your new photos, dear!

really enjoyable day with my family a bath

I mis-read that as "with my family bath" 😆

I've been waiting for this post... you've all done a wonderful job - the curves are a great idea (they even trick the mind into thinking the garden's bigger) and it'll be interesting to watch as the plants all mature and reach nearer their "maximum" size. It'll be a bit scary in there for the birds to start with but as things get bigger, they'll be able to hide themselves better and the neighbours will start to wonder where all of their little visitors have gone 🤔

we kept brainstorming and coming up with more and more ideas of what else can be done

One thing that you could consider that we've got in our garden is a soaker hose which can be permanently in place around the garden which you can then hook up to the outside tap. It'll be a good time to do it whilst you can access everything (after all of the soil has been laid) and it'll make watering the garden a doddle.

The birds already started exploring. I saw a pair of great tits, a black bird and a robin. I filled up a bird feeder. The neighbours got a few bird boxes and feeders too so this helps as the birds are already here. We sorted the watering as you suggested and we got her a sprinkler too which she can move around the garden easily. The grass arrived yesterday. It will be interesting to see it all later in the year. I will make sure I post an update.

Excellent work 🙂 I bet it looks amazing with the grass - you could get your aunt a robotic lawnmower that'll just cut the grass whenever it feels like it too - build it a little hutch to sleep in 😴

Hi my dear friend @petface, your post gives light to those who read it, may this beautiful energy always be with you :) It is very enjoyable to witness the transformation adventure of your aunt's garden. Believe me, I wanted to work in the garden with you, as I am a nature lover like you while reading this post. I liked flowers, trees and colors. I am sure you will collect wonderful memories in this beautiful garden in summer.
Another good thing is that everyone has an effort and an idea in the garden, which gives meaning to this garden. It gets a character and I think it should have a name too ;)

Good morning my friend @serap Giving my auntie’s garden a name is a wonderful idea! I already said that it is like a miniature version of Kew Gardens which are the royal botanic gardens here in London. Working together on a project is truly awesome. I certainly did enjoy it and I am pleased that I was a part of it. On a separate note, last night I was advised that someone copied my account on Hive. I don’t know if you are there or not but if you aren’t it might be best if you double check and make sure that the very same isn’t happening to you as well. Cheers.

Hello my friend, unfortunately, I learned the situation about hive. Since my account is the old account, it was automatically backed up there, so no one else took my account there. I hope the malicious people who steal all of your efforts do not achieve their goals. I read that you fixed the problem, I'm glad. I hope you won't experience anything like this again. Thanks a lot for your warning.
By the way, I'll look into the photos of Kew Gardens ;) Good night :)

The photos give a nice impression. I can very well understand the work that goes into it. I also like to work in the garden and think a lot about where which plants should be planted. Unfortunately, I don't always have the appropriate knowledge, so I'm still in the learning phase. :-)
Nevertheless, or maybe because of that, I like to enjoy the results of the work...

I also like curves and curved lines in the garden more than straight paths or beds. It gives the beds a more lively look. Very good decision!

I would be happy to read or see more about the finished garden in a later season...

That is beautiful garden and sure its lot of fun to spent time there.

Greetings my friend @birjudanak It is a lovely garden indeed. I do enjoy spending time here, exploring the outdoor space and making it better. Next time we plan to have a barbecue here, enjoy some music and hopefully the sun. Cheers.

Thank you ever so much @chriddi Your support is really appreciated and motivates me to keep contributing to the Steemit platform. Have a happy day and see you around.

Oops, so glad you mentioned me....
The sc08 comment was probably something failed... 😇
Well, it just shows how much we have to concentrate when curating - is really hard work.
Yes! I really like your detailed postings!

You are more than welcome @chriddi It does sound like a busy day curating for the sake of creating your own content really. I suppose it involves lots of reading and not always what you actually like to read. So it can be looked at as a treasure hunt which is time consuming and you can actually never be sure how long it will take. Therefore I do admire people like you who are devoted to making the Steemit platform a better place where original content is greatly appreciated. You must be proud of yourself for being part of such a fantastic international team. By the way I am already working on my next article to do with the forthcoming Easter holidays here in Britain so keep an eye out. Have fun my dear bringing joy to the Steemians here on the platform. Cheers.

🥰

Maybe you like to read this post. We are one team, we have the same method. Yes, now you are at the point you don‘t think but KNOW what I am doing and why I do not write a lot of posts because besides I am a reading curator with my own account… 😂

What a great garden, it fills me with great emotion to see how everything is taking shape, a great effort and hard work!! I congratulate you and wish you thousands of successes in the project. 💙🙏

What a big task you are helping out with at your auntie´s" It´s looking great, I know the feeling of wanting to share something you are so happy about with the world! Lovely!

Greetings @romanie Thanks for stopping by. It is a fantastic feeling really. I feel like I have achieved something and I am glad that I was able to help. My auntie and I were a great team digging holes together. Enjoy the weekend.

You have a beautiful garden! And cool boots. :)
I want to plant greens for food in the greenhouse tonight after work. We had very warm weather for 3 days, but snow is still everywhere. But a lot of clean land has already appeared in the garden

Thank you ever so much @apnigrich I also have a pink pair of wellies with birds on. They might appear in another post of mine. I hope you managed to start some greens in the greenhouse. It was very warm here today too especially around lunchtime. The temperature was about twenty degrees Celsius but here in the city it felt like twenty-five. I wish I had a sun hat on me really. We plan to light up the barbecue tomorrow and have lunch outside in the garden.

We had 0 degrees today. And it snowed all day. A lot of birds have flown to my feeder!
