Sky Over My Head. Another Image from Steemians' Photo Walk. For World of Xpilar B&W Contest
Three of us - me, @qwerrie, and @daybook - had a walk on Saturday, May 22. We watched an exhibition of vintage cars, had drinks and discussion at a cafe and, filled with coffee and cakes, strolled through the old town's courtyards.
Petersburg's courtyards are the inner side of the city, less fancy but not less stylish. There is little luxury there but more space for thoughts.
It is not for nothing that people call the city a sack made of stone. Isolation of man from nature and its healing powers, loneliness, and lack of freedom manifest themselves on the largest scale there. In some measure, we all are doomed prisoners on the bottom of the dry well. This is where deprivation, suffering, hope, and inspiration come to reveal the secrets of life and death. This is where we notice that the sky over our heads is not a given, but grace.

Very gloomy scenery!
Yes, it is. This city has this side, a dark one.
