Steemit Engagement Challenge WOX Community S6W3: Drawing TreessteemCreated with Sketch.

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago (edited)

Today, as part of the Steemit Engagement Challenge WOX, S6W3: Drawing Trees, I want to present you my work, namely, a drawing showing the greatness of giant sequoias.

Probably, every child is familiar with this huge tree, which, in some photographs, was shown with a tunnel at the base of its trunk.

Drawing on my memory and trying to imagine what it would be like to stand at the base of such a tree, I set to work.

Drawing on my memory and trying to imagine what it would be like to stand at the base of such a tree, I set to work.

Materials.

A simple pencil, an eraser that I didn’t need and a piece of whatman paper close to A5 format, I had a strip that I tore in half.

Steps.

When I got to work, I had two options, the first was to stick to reality, and the second, more surreal.

I liked the second option and, therefore, the tunnel in the redwood trunk looks very long, and not a third shorter, as it would be in reality.

Sometimes, we have a long way to go before we get the result, which is exactly what I want to add to my drawing.

I cannot divide my work into steps, it was done in one step, started and finished.

When I painted this mighty tree, I could smell pine needles and tree resin, I hope.

Wow.
That is super great. You used 3-point perspective for the tree to vanish in the top, and 1-point perspective for the lovely tunnel.
You used the brightness values correctly, dark at the top of the tunnel, and also as it gets deep.
Paper looks great. Looks like an antique paper.
Love it.
Again, great work, including the texture.

Thank you. I don't know how it is presented in the theory of fine arts, I skipped theory classes, lol. Yes, this paper in A1 format has been lying in the pantry since 1989 and has already turned yellow, it's time to use it :).

I work so hard to make my paper look old, while you have it ready for use :o)

This is my process:

If you look from this angle... :), then, then, the internal and external content correspond to each other..
Unfortunately, I do not see most of the photos in Steemit, there is no response from the server. Can't upload photos, I'll take a look at building maps later.

Sometimes the server is tired :o)
Meanwhile, you can read this guide in my website: map drawing guide.

I would buy myself such a card :). This is painstaking work, starting with structures and trees and ending with a smooth transition of shelf depths and heights.

Hi @barski!
I am happy to see your great drawing. Your drawing could be a good starting point for a surreal painting or a more detailed drawing.
Perhaps it will be useful for you to delve into the study of perspective. There is a small inconsistency in the vanishing points.
Congratulations, I wish you good luck!

Of course, I am now trying to understand some points regarding the perspective, this is interesting, but as for the non-convergence of points, then I did not rely on specific points when drawing a sequoia, I imagined how it would look if I stood at some distance from it foundations are intuitive actions not based on geometry. Thanks, I'm really glad you found my drawing interesting.

Greetings friend @barski

Excellent work, I like the way you give that giant tree effect, the tunnel looks great.

Thanks for joining the contest.

Thank you very much, I got a lot of pleasure from the drawing process.

Oh! I couldn’t draw; I failed art subject at school. Too busy to take lessons!

Hey, you can't run away from your fate :), apparently, you will have to start drawing, lol.

Hello Friend I think your tag was wrong, not #wox-s63w, but #wox-s6w3

Thanks a lot! I have corrected.
