in WORLD OF XPILAR11 months ago

Hello, everyone.
This is @aditi993.
From #Bangladesh.
I hope you all are well and safe by the grace of Almighty.

Today I am going to participate in a Steemit Engagement Challenge titled, “Steemit Engagement Challenge WOX, S10 W2: Drawings Hands” in the “World of Xpilar” community. I would like to thank “World of Xpilar” to organize such an exceptional contest.

Now I am going to share my sketch of “Hands” with you.

Drawing Supplies:

To draw “Hands” I have used,

  • Sketch paper,
  • Pencil (HB & 2B Pencils),
  • Eraser,
  • Sharpener.

Drawing Steps:

Step-1

First, I have drawn two rough shapes of hands, left-hand and right-hand. The hands are pointing downward, with the fingers very close together.

Step-2

Then I have drawn a rough shape of a human face, and then another rough shape of a hand over its mouth.

Step-3

In this step, I have drawn two more hands (rough shapes) on the left and right sides of that face. Here, the fingers are a little distance from each other, and the ears are closed by the index fingers of both hands.

Step-4

After finishing the rough drawing, I have clearly outlined the first two hands and then shaded them.

Step-5

Then, I clearly outlined and shaded the hand drawn over the mouth.

Step-6

In this step, I have clearly outlined and shaded the rest of two hands.

Step-7

In this last step, I have drawn and shaded two more hands slightly below the previous image. These hands are in handshake condition.
Finally, I have drawn all the curves and lines again boldly with a 2B pencil to make each part more visible.

The main theme of my artwork:

In my artwork, I have tried to metaphorically highlight a social injustice and give a message against it.
In the first part of my drawing, I tried to show the abuse of power, where all the human senses are blocked by the fear of the abusers of power.

The abuse of power is a global problem. Because of this, we in our society are not willing to raise our voices against it. We act as if we didn't see what we saw or hear what we heard. So we keep our mouths shut to protect ourselves.

In the second part of my drawing, through the sign of the handshake, I tried to show that where human rights and equality of power are guaranteed, individual freedom and justice are easily ensured.

So, to stop abuse of power, we have to ensure freedom and justice.

My Drawing Style:

I am not a professional at drawing. I have learned it myself. I always prefer to draw a rough shape first. Then I gradually try to shape it properly.
To draw this "Hands" artwork, I have used my own hand photographs.

Hi @aditi993, thank you for your participation!

It seems to me that he has made a very sober and elegant drawing, with a good compositional distribution and with a clear message, although it cannot be said that they are original ideas. At the top, the much-used graphic of don't see, don't hear, don't tell. At the bottom with the hands that greet each other, we have seen them by the thousands.
Ignoring this, your drawings are very well done, I have nothing to object to. You have made very good use of your reference photos.
Me in your place? I would colour it and post it because it's really cool.
I think your work is perfect for a campaign poster.
Congratulations!

First of all, I am expressing my gratitude and respect to you @jorgevandeperre sir for visiting my post.

Your compliment is a great achievement in my life. This is a blessing for me. I am so grateful that you liked my artwork. Thank you for your kind suggestion. I agree that it would be better if it were colored. Thank you so much again.

¡Congratulations!

Thank you so much @damithudaya sir, for you valuable support...

HI @aditi993, thank you for taking part in the challenge of drawing hands. It is very well done. I only wonder what made you to make such photographs, also it seems like the images 1 and 3 as well as 4 and 6 are one photo, if you have one that is not divided would you please share them, you are saying that you did the photographs too. We would appreciate you for the reply, thanks

Thank you @stef1 sir, for replying to my post. I have taken five photographs to draw this sketch. Here, only photographs 4 and 6 are the same. I have mirror-rotated 4-number photograph for my drawing convenience and posted it for the ease of understanding of the viewers. But photographs 1 and 3 are not the same. Again, thank you so much sir.

Can't see, can't hear, can't speak?
Tell me, is there any photo, image or drawing that inspired you to do this work?
I have a feeling that I have met a similar idea somewhere.

Thank you @bambuka sir, for reviewing my post.
Hearing this type of sentence, we feel it is not new. Those are common sayings that are used worldwide to protest against injustice. Protesters also symbolically cover their faces in protest, which we usually see on the news. I have also been seeing these types of protests in the news since childhood. I made my artwork inspired by these. But behind my work, there is no specific picture, drawing, or real photo to refer to. Again, thank you so much sir.

Thanks for your reply. I agree that this idea is not new, but I like how you implemented it in your drawing.
Good luck in the contest!

Thank you so much sir. Lots of respect to you...

Hello @xaviduran.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. Your words inspire me a lot. Best wishes to you...

Amiga, ha hecho un trabajo muy artístico y bonito, no solo se concentró en dibujar una sola mano, sinó que dibujó varias y que a la vez expresaban sentimientos con la posición que iban tomando.

Gran trabajo. Felicitaciones
