Dear friends, sports fans,
we have come to the eve of the last round of Champions League as regards Group G, that of Juventus and Barcelona, which in tomorrow's direct match at Camp Nou they will play first place. Both already qualified at the end of the fourth game, they present themselves to the challenge without some important elements, such as Giorgio Chiellini and Merih Demiral on the one hand, Piqué, Sergi Roberto and the starlet Ansu Fati on the other, but they will be able to present their brightest stars, the two players who have made the history of European football in the last ten years, Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi.
In consideration of the first leg match, in which Barcelona beat their opponents much more than the final score of 0-2 tells, the hosts appear as favorites, at least for the preservation of the first place finish, while the game itself could be more balanced, also in light of the poor moment of form experienced by Messi and teammates in the Liga.

With Ronald Koeman, current manager, on the pitch as a player, Barcelona receives Juventus for the first leg of the Cup Winners' Cup semi-finals. The challenge is considered by many as a sort of anticipated final, and the show offered by the two protagonists at the Camp Nou is worthy of the importance of the appointment.
As a tradition of Spanish football, the Blaugrana offer an offensive maneuver of absolute value, but they sin in defense and, following an unfortunate back pass, give the advantage to the Bianconeri of Gigi Maifredi, scored by Casiraghi.
Juve, inspired by Roberto Baggio, plays great football for at least an hour, however missing the opportunities for doubling and must suffer a draw from Stoichkov, who came on a stroke of head appeared anything but irresistible.
The thirty-five minutes that separate the two teams from the end of the match become very hard for the Turin players, who also thanks to the bad performance of the goalkeeper Tacconi, suffer two more goals, risking several times even the fourth.

After the 1-1 draw in the first leg, the Spanish team, coached by Radomir Antić, reach the home match of the quarter-finals of Champions League as favorites, also driven by the 100,000 spectators of Camp Nou, which have not yet witnessed a defeat of their players this season.
Contrary to the first leg, faced by the bianconeri with soft legs and awe, Juve plays an excellent match from the point of view of determination, making the most of the opportunities granted by the opponents: in the tenth of the second half , Pavel Nedved brings the Piedmontese ahead a little by surprise with a sensational goal, but the team managed by Marcello Lippi is forced to suffer the reaction of the Spanish, who equalize after less than 15 minutes. The expulsion of Davids, ten minutes from the end, seems to mark the fate of the match, but despite the numerical inferiority of the guests, the result is not unlocked.
We go to extra time, where the bianconeri cling to the result with their fingernails, thanks also to some decisive saves by Buffon, until, on a counterattack action, the newly entered Zalayeta, masterfully served by Pessotto, trims the decisive paw by bringing Juve to the semifinals, in what will remain an enterprise destined to be remembered for a long time.
After having also overcome the Real Madrid obstacle in the semifinals, Juventus, without its star Pavel Nedved, will nevertheless be forced to hand over the cup in the final to Milan, after an unfortunate penalty shootout lottery.
Barcelona's biggest win
Barcelona 3-0 Juventus (September 12, 2017)
Almost five months after the previous match, which saw Juventus clearly prevail over Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the 2016/17 edition of the Champions League, the two teams find themselves paired again , even if this time within the elimination round of the European Cup.
The first match played in September at the Camp Nou is a Blaugrana symphony, which plays after a rather balanced first half: Messi scores for the first time in his career at Buffon at the end of the first forty-five minutes, and the black and white dam erected by Massimiliano Allegri collapses.
In the second half, Rakitic still scores, repeating the goal of the 2015 final, and for the second time Messi, in an absolute domination by the hosts.
Both teams will pass the round, Barcelona as first and Juventus as second, but they will have to surrender in the quarter-finals, eliminated by Roma and Real Madrid respectively.
Juventus' biggest win

In the second round of Fairs Cup of the 1970/71 season, two teams that are not going through their best time face each other: Barcelona has returned from a disappointing fifth place in the league, while the bianconeri have had to settle for third position in Serie A, behind Cagliari and Inter.

In the first leg played at the Camp Nou, Juventus faced their opponents well and took the lead with Haller after just twelve minutes; the hosts try, but the tactical superiority of Juventus is evident and the 2-0 found by Fabio Capello, after a masterful counter-attack, seems to establish a clear difference in values on the pitch, at least until with a quarter of an hour to go, when a shot from outside the box by Marcial shortens the distance.
From that moment on, the game turned into an assault by the Spanish, who had to surrender to the skill of the goalkeeper Roberto Tancredi and a pinch of bad luck. In the return match, the bianconeri will win with the same result, scoring two goals in the first twenty minutes, but after an almost triumphal ride, they will have to give the cup to the English of Leeds, while closing their path without defeat, for the away goal rule (2-2 in Turin, 1-1 in the return leg).

siamo giunti alla vigilia dell'ultimo turno di Champions League per quanto riguarda il Gruppo G, nel quale sono inseriti la Juventus e il Barcellona, che nella scontro diretto di domani al Camp Nou si giocheranno il primo posto. Entrambe già qualificate al termine della quarta partita, si presentano alla sfida prive di alcuni elementi di rilievo, come Giorgio Chiellini e Merih Demiral da una parte, Piqué, Sergi Roberto e la stellina Ansu Fati dall'altra, ma potranno presentare le loro stelle più brillanti, i deu giocatori che hanno fatto la storia del calcio europeo negli ultimi dieci anni, Cristiano Ronaldo e Leo Messi.
In considerazione della gara dell'andata, nella quale il Barcellona si è imposto sugli avversari motlo di più di quanto non racconti il punteggio di 0-2 finale, i padroni di casa appaiono come favoriti, quanto meno per la conservazione del primo posto finale, mentre la gara in sé potrebbe risultare più equilibrata, alla luce anche dello scarso momento di forma vissuto da Messi e compagni nella Liga.
I precedenti in terra catalana, iniziati con l'andata dei sedicesimi di finale della Coppa delle Fiere, nel 1970, parlano di una leggera prevalenza dei padroni di casa che, contando anche il trofeo Gamper, disputato nell'estate del 2005, possono registrare tre vittorie, a fronte delle due bianconere e dei due pareggi; alcune sfide sono passate alla storia delle due tifoserie, e di seguito rivivremo le emozioni migliori che Barcellona e Juventus hanno saputo donarci negli incroci degli anni passati.
La più bella vittoria del Barcellona
Barcellona-Juventus 3-1 (10 Aprile 1991)
Con Ronald Koeman, attuale allenatore, in campo come giocatore, il Barcellona riceve la Juventus per l'andata delle semifinali di Coppa dell Coppe. La sfida viene vista da molti come una sorta di finale anticipata, e lo spettacolo offerto dalle due protagoniste al Camp Nou è degno dell'importanza dell'appuntamento.
Come tradizione del calcio spagnolo, i blaugrana offrono una manovra offensiva di assoluto valore, ma peccano in difesa, e con uno sciagurato retropassaggio regalano il vantaggio ai bianconeri di Gigi Maifredi, messo a segno da Casiraghi.
La Juve, ispirata da Roberto Baggio, gioca un gran calcio per almeno un'ora, fallendo tuttavia le occasioni per il raddoppio e deve subire il pareggio di Stoichkov, arrivato su un colpo di testa apparso tutt'altro che irresistibile.
I trentacinque minuti che separano le due squadre dalla fine della gara diventano durissimi per i bianconeri, che complice anche la brutta prova del portiere Tacconi, subiscono altre due reti, rischiando più volte anche la quarta.
Al ritorno disputato a Torino, la splendida punizione messa a segno da Roberto Baggio non basterà ai piemontesi per evitare la delusione dell'eliminazione, mentre per il Barcellona si apriranno le porte della finale, nella quale verrà tuttavia sconfitto 2-1 dal Manchester United.
La più bella vittoria della Juventus
Barcellona-Juventus 1-2 (22 Aprile 2003)
Dopo il pareggio 1-1 della gara di andata, la formazione spagnola, allenata da Radomir Antić, si presenta alla sfida casalinga dei quarti di finale di Champions League con i favori del pronostico, spinta anche dai centomila spettatori del Camp Nou, che non hanno ancora assistito ad una sconfitta dei propri beniamini in stagione.
Contrariamente alla gara d'andata, affrontata dai bianconeri con gambe molli e timore reverenziale, la Juve disputa un'ottima partita sotto il punto di vista della determinazione, sfruttando al massimo le occasioni concesse dagli avversari: al decimo del secondo tempo, Pavel Nedved porta un po' a sorpresa in vantaggio i piemontesi con un goal sensazionale, ma la squadra diretta da Marcello Lippi è costretta a subire la reazione degli spagnoli, che pareggiano dopo nemmeno un quarto d'ora. L'espulsione di Davids, a dieci dalla fine, sembra segnare il destino della gara, ma nonostante l'inferiorità numerica degli ospiti il risultato non si sblocca.
Si va ai supplementari, dove i bianconeri rimangono aggrappati al risultato con le unghie, grazie anche ad alcune parate decisive di Buffon, fin quando, su azione di contropiede, il neo entrato Zalayeta, servito magistralmente da Pessotto, rifila la zampata decisiva portando la Juve in semifinale, in quella che rimarrà un'impresa destinata ad essere ricordata a lungo.
Dopo aver superato anche lo scoglio Real Madrid in semifinale, la Juventus, priva della sua stella Pavel Nedved, sarà tuttavia costretta a cedere la coppa in finale al Milan, dopo una sfortunata lotteria dei calci di rigore.
La vittoria più larga del Barcellona
Barcellona-Juventus 3-0 (12 Settembre 2017)
Quasi cinque mesi dopo la precedente sfida, che ha visto la Juventus prevalere nettamente sul Barcellona nei quarti di finale dell'edizione 2016/17 della Champions League, le due squadre si trovano nuovamente accoppiate, anche se questa volta all'interno del girone eliminatorio della Coppa regina d'Europa.
La prima partita disputata in settembre al Camp Nou è una sinfonia blaugrana, che suona dopo un primo tempo piuttosto equilibrato: Messi segna per la prima volta in carriera a Buffon allo scadere dei primi quarantacinque minuti, e la diga bianconera eretta da Massimiliano Allegri cede di schianto.
Nel secondo tempo va a segno ancora Rakitic, che bissa il goal della finale 2015, e per la seconda volta Messi, in un dominio assoluto dei padroni di casa.
Entrambe le squadre passeranno il turno, il Barcellona come prima e la Juventus come seconda, ma si dovranno arrendere ai quarti di finale, eliminate rispettivamente dalla Roma e dal Real Madrid.
La vittoria più larga della Juventus
Barcellona-Juventus 1-2 (20 Ottobre 1970)
Nel secondo turno della Coppa delle Fiere della stagione 1970/71, si affrontano due squadre che non stanno attraversando il loro momento migliore: il Barcellona è reduce da un deludente quinto posto in campionato, mentre i bianconeri si sono dovuti accontentare della terza posizione in Serie A, alle spalle di Cagliari e Inter.
Nell'andata del Camp Nou i bianconeri controllano bene gli avversari e vanno in vantaggio con Haller dopo appena dodici minuti; i padroni di casa ci provano, ma la superiorità tattica della Juventus è evidente e il raddoppio trovato da Fabio Capello, dopo un contropiede magistrale, sembra stabilire una netta differenza di valori in campo, almeno fino ad un quarto d'ora dalla fine, quando un tiro da fuori area di Marcial accorcia le distanze.
Da quel momento in poi diventa un'assalto degli spagnoli, che si devono però arrendere di fronte alla bravura del portiere Roberto Tancredi e ad un pizzico di sfortuna. Al ritorno i bianconeri vinceranno l'incontro col medesimo risultato, segnando due reti nei primi venti minuti, ma dopo una cavalcata quasi trionfale, dovranno cedere la coppa agli inglesi del Leeds pur chiudendo il proprio cammino senza sconfitte, per la regola dei goal in trasferta (2-2 a Torino, 1-1 al ritorno).

I love these posts! I can not stand Spanish teams haha, I always support Juve but unfortunately the finals finds Juve very anxious!
Thanks Anna! I can't stand them too, perhaps because in recent years they have always won, even if things have been changing for a couple of seasons already. Now at Barcelona it seems they are even having difficulty paying salaries!
It is not only that but its also the way they are winning, the mentality of their players and not respecting the financial fairplay. Well when you are paying one single player an amount that is equal with other teams whole bugdet when you got it coming, it's only their fault, and you are ruining the game, football is not a company, at least it should not be.
