Things are getting so expensive here in Pakistan lately, that a person who's doing a single job is not able to afford basic necessities of life. Inflation has hit us all like a Tornado recently and I'm sure it's not inly in Pakistan, but the most of the countries out there. Quite recently, I read a comment on my post by a Venezuelan user who told me that it's the same condition in their country as well.

A person who I know, recently did a breakdown of prices. The monthly basic, necessary fixed expenses without which you won't be able to do anything in your life. Let me present it to you:

I swear I am not exaggerating it a bit. Inflation is so high that it's impossible for people who are doing a Single job, like security guards, riders, labours etc, to have a chance at life. And I have not even mentioned the other expenses such as self maintenance, car/bike maintenance etc.

The reason of mentioning this information above to let you all know how hard it is getting day by day. Imagine a worker earning Pkr 25,000(500) how difficult it would be for him to survive in this world? This is one of the reasons why suicide rates have increased drastically.

It's almost impossible to survive with a single job and that is a reason why people have opted for more than one jobs. Lets say,one active job and one passive job. Side hustles, business, Startups and whatnot. These all are need of the hour.

In this contest we have to write about our Jobs/Business. I am doing both of them and that's why I'll write about both. Let's list my profession/Business:

I'm an aspiring Dental Surgeon and with God's will and my commitment, I'll be one of the best Dental Surgeons in Pakistan and InshaAllah all over the world. Let me tell you how fate works.

Few years ago, when I was preparing for my Medical School entry test, I visited the university (that I am currently studying in) there I was sitting with my elder brother's friends. My elder brother is a dentist as well. There I was sitting with his friends and we were having a conversation on my future. I remember vividly what I said to them:

A Dentist? No, Never. I can never be a dentist. Even if I have nothing else to do in life, I'll never opt for Dentistry.

That's where I learned my lesson, that words do come to haunt you. Two months after that I got admission into the BDS degree.

I didn't like it at first, but as time passed, I developed a liking for it and now I am totally engaged in it. It's my job, my occupation and my passion. Since the past 5 months, I have started working as a general dentist, in which I diagnose people. Check their oral health, deal with oral complications and much more. It has been a fun ride till now and I'm sure I'll get to learn and work a lot more with the passage of time. Let me show you a sneak peak into my Work Life.

That's what I do as a dentist and I love doing it. I'll be posting a lot of snaps of Dental Surgery from next week and I'll be playing my part in entertaining you and teaching you whatever I can.

Being a young dentist isn't sufficient for me as I have only started working in a clinic. I'm on my early stages so it's not paying my bills yet, though I get a lot of exposure and experience, which is enough for me at the moment. So how do I pay my bills? Well I have a business of my own as well, and that is:

Honey King, is what my friends call me. It started two years back, accidentally when I got into the honey business. In June 2020, I received a call from a honey vendor in Hunza(Pakistan) who I met last year during the Pakistan tour. He had my number and look, how it helped him.

He called me out of despair. The vendor told me that due to this ban on tourism after COVID-19 there were no tourists who would buy honey from him. Moreover, he also mentioned how he was not even able to provide two meals at his home.

I consoled him and reassured him that I will in my best capabilities try to help him. Meanwhile, my brother told him to send 20-kg honey to us. We paid him for the honey and he was really grateful to us.

We distributed that honey in our relatives and friends circle for free in the beginning. Our only intention was to help that poor vendor. Fortunately, they loved the honey soo much that in no time they asked for more.

At that moment, my brother (who is also a medical student) and I thought that why shouldn’t we have a startup of our own.

Therefore, on June 17, 2020, we started this journey. We kept the profit margin as low as possible.

We delivered door-to-door in Karachi. Besides, we also stepped out of our comfort zone and explored the real world out there. Whether it is scorching heat or heavy rainfall, we stayed committed to our cause. In no time, our business started to flourish. Moreover, we received orders from all over Karachi, as well as, other cities of Pakistan. People absolutely loved our product. It all started with circulating my messages on whats app, Instagram and Facebook. I was so adamant on doing something on my own. I spread my posts o my fb and instagram accounts.

After giving away the honey for free, we started selling it and my first income was rupees 12,000. Now what did I do with it? unlike other people who would've spent the money I invested it further in my business and with my sheer dedication hard work and God's help I flourished. Nothing is possible without God's help. Literally nothing. I did everything I could do and then left it all on God. He was my partner. My constant Helper.

A thing which started off as a gesture of help to someone turned into a startup. We invested a little amount and carried on with this.

Selling the product, in the beginning, came off as a hard thing to do. People didn’t really trust the quality of the product and obviously why should they? Why should anyone trust any person? We struggled, worked hard, and got in this position that we sold all the honey.

Now, this business is not a side hustle anymore, but a full time business that I manage with my dental career. My brother and I look after this business on our own. We have hired workers who manage our social media handles, do Marketing and other related stuff. This business is where I get my monthly savings and InshaAllah, I will expand it even further.
