Today I am going to share with you how to make a bitter gourd curry which is very beneficial for the body.

bitter Gourd is a popular vegetable in Asian countries including Sri Lanka and it's is due to the presence of compounds called cucurbitacin.
This bitter taste may be unpleasant to some, but can be reduced by various cooking methods.

Also,bitter gourd is known for its many health benefits, and it is used in traditional medicine for various diseases.
Talking about its nutritional value, it is a good source of vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, vitamin A, iron, potassium.

In Sri Lankan Ayurveda, bitter gourd is used as a remedy for many health conditions including diabetes, digestive problems and skin disorders.
So now let's know about this delicious recipe.

INGREDIENTS


  • Bitter melon 150 g
  • Onions 5g
  • Garlic 5g
  • Tomato 10g
  • Turmeric powder
  • Red chilly powder
  • Curry powder
  • Salt
  • Coconut milk 1 cup
  • Coconut oil 2 table spoon

METHOD


🥒First, wash the bitter gourd well and cut it into small pieces. After that, keep a pot and add the oil when it is hot. Then when it is hot, add garlic, onions and tomato.

🥒When it becomes temper, add turmeric, curry powder, chilly powder and curry leaves. Mix it well and add the bitter gourd pieces to it.

🥒Cook it for about 2 minutes and add thick coconut milk. Then add salt according to taste. Cook on low heat for about 20 minutes and serve.
