Hello my dear Steemians,

DIY - upgrade your garden furniture

When we are on weekend of on holiday we often try to spend our time enjoyable and productive. Me and my hubby we do not like just laying on coach and doing nothing and have all inclusive service. It is something that does not feel like we used our time interestingly.

From our experience in summer on holiday last year we have renovated one of the room including changing wallpaper and flooring that was replaced with laminate, painted walls and finished the room within two weeks. That was the most exciting experience last summer.

At the moment we are not on holiday but we have small breaks on weekend and last weekend we have decided to upgrade our garden furniture. Our furniture is about 8 years old and we left them over autumn and winter outside, the quality of wood is great because it is still strong and stable, only superficial layer is off a little and it lost its nice dark brown colour, that only means that we need to bring it to old glance.

Before covering the wood with new protective paint the superficial layer needs to be polished so that it is clean and smooth. Luckily we have a BOSCH polisher and after first test application it showed very good result.

After couple of hours of work the surface look great, wood is once again clean and smooth, that only needed to clean up from dust and the next we needed to choose a protective colour and we decided for dark oak.

This is how it looks like when applied on surface, that looks absolutely awesome we like it, but after the first layer we decided to apply it two more times.

The colour is still a bit dark but it needs to dry up a little usually then it is slightly lighter, but for us it was important to protect timber rather than the beauty, we want to have our table for another 10 years, hopefully you like the result too.

Assalam Alaikum dear friends, I hope you are well. I am very glad that you have preferred a different post in which you mentioned that you spend your weekends with your husband. There is a responsibility and it is our duty to keep him happy. Spending time with them and talking with them, drinking tea together, all this makes our life a great and happy life. expressed his beautiful opinion.

Weekends give us the opportunity to change some things around the house, like if you thought of upgrading your garden furniture, you're right, wood lasts a long time if it's strong. But here in Pakistan the wood is so weak that even if it stays in water for years, it deteriorates very quickly and looking at your wood, I think your wood is very strong, you just need to polish it. And your wood will be the same as before. In foreign countries, you get very valuable things and very strong things, but we don't get such things here in Pakistan. In our Pakistan, we are living only with fraud. Even the most expensive things get damaged very quickly.

The colour is still a bit dark but it needs to dry up a little usually then it is slightly lighter, but for us it was important to protect timber rather than the beauty, we want to have our table for another 10 years, hopefully you like the result too.

I thought this color was very beautiful. We have furniture of the same color here and this color looks very beautiful. Now it will take time to dry and when it dries, it will look very beautiful. I am very happy and you. The furniture of the house is also looking very beautiful. You want to keep it for 10 years. It is very good. If the furniture and wood is strong, people can never see their things getting damaged. Also, post your quality. Please keep sharing. It's great that you have expressed your beautiful opinion and shared your lovely and quality post with us. Best wishes for you always. 😍🤗

Best Regards 😍

You really change it. And I like that you have great ART. And it is fun . Every one can not do this with full dedication. You have good skill. You make it new. When I saw first image. It is totally different from last one. And I really amazed to see that there is totally different . First I thought that it is may be another table. But then I read out full post that this nice couple make it new. Very well done job. Really appreciable. Good luck for the contest

There is a lot that we can do to save our old stuff without spending money for new. That also gives a pleasure to see the result of our work :)

Yes, initially we were sceptic that it will work because we did not know how the wood look under the surface, but we were lucky that it was good :)

Yes you are right Mam everyone is busy in the hustle and bustle of their lives and I'm glad to know that you can find sometime to give it your favorite hobby of diy arts. Arts is my favorite hobby too but now a days I'm busy in my exams which make it difficult for me to give time to arts. By way thanks a lot for sharing with us. Stay happy 😊

It's good to see the way you diverted from this contest questions to attack the topic. What you do at your leisure is actually something my mother likes doing. She enjoy working at her leisure, doing work that would bring her great joy and this is farm work. Thanks for sharing. I'm impressed by your use of words.
