“Money or Peace” underscores the dilemma between pursuing wealth and finding inner peace. The book explores how materialism can come at the expense of peace, emphasizing the importance of balance. Through stories and deep reflection, readers are reminded that true happiness often cannot be bought with money, but is found in peace and meaningful relationships.

Are we all sacrificing peace to make money?

Many believe that our society often sacrifices peace for economic gain. In their pursuit of profit, companies and governments sometimes ignore the ethics and social impact of their actions. A real example is the exploitation of natural resources which damages the environment and results in conflicts in various parts of the world.

The arms industry, for example, is a highly profitable sector, but its contribution to global conflict and violence cannot be ignored. Arms trafficking often worsens situations in countries already vulnerable to war and instability.

Additionally, economic pressures also push individuals to work in inhumane conditions or participate in illegal activities. This creates a vicious cycle in which violence and instability are perpetuated for financial gain.

However, not all economic sectors have a negative impact. There are also many companies and initiatives that seek to combine profits with social responsibility, such as sustainable business and social investment. This effort shows that the economy and peace can go hand in hand, if we choose to prioritize ethics and shared prosperity.

Which is wiser to spend and earn or to spend after earning and saving?

Spending after earning income and saving is a wiser choice than spending first and earning later. This approach helps ensure that basic needs are met first and provides an opportunity to set aside emergency funds or long-term savings. Saving before spending also allows for better financial planning, reducing debt risk, and preparing for unexpected needs.

Additionally, having savings can provide a sense of security and financial stability, which is important for facing an uncertain future. On the other hand, spending without planning can result in financial deficits and difficulty meeting immediate needs. Therefore, priority should be given to saving and managing expenses wisely.

Apart from money, what brings you peace and happiness?

Beyond money, peace and happiness can be found in meaningful relationships with family and friends. The warmth and support of those closest to you provides a deep sense of security and comfort. Apart from that, doing activities you like such as hobbies, sports or art can bring true happiness. Being in nature, enjoying natural beauty, and feeling connected to the surrounding environment also provides inner peace.

Meditation and spiritual practices can help achieve peace of mind. Providing help to others, whether through volunteer work or simply providing moral support, also provides a sense of satisfaction and meaning in life. Education and knowledge allow us to continue to develop and find purpose in life. Ultimately, balance between work and personal life, as well as appreciating the small moments in everyday life, is the key to achieving sustainable peace and happiness.
