Steemit Engagement Challenge S6/W1 - List Your Childhood Outdoor Games, Which are Not Famous Globally
Greetings, my beloved friend. This is my first post in this community. I am @senehasa from Sri Lanka. This week, I began the 'Steemet Engagement Challenge S6' by taking part in the competition held by the Hind Whale Community. Thanks, @hindwhale for organizing such a lovely competition for us to participate. While reading all of the entries published here, we were brought back to our beautiful era, that time we will never experience again. Remembering those beautiful days, I am going to share the games we played in that era.
A coconut shell is used to shape a mound of sand or mud into a half-globe known as a kompittu. We used to play this game mostly in our infant age. This game can be played both solos and with all of our friends or siblings. For this game, only coconut shells and sand or mud are needed. This is a very simple game; mostly very small kids perform. The complex surrounding our home is a great place to have fun.

To create this kompittu, first, fill the coconut shell with sand or mud. Then, the mud should be pressed with your hands, and then placed overturned on a flat surface. Then, using a different shell, tap the sell's front side to tighten the kompittu. Then, the coconut shell should be carefully removed so that we may see the kompittu. Make sure the soil is not loose, and we can decorate it with small flowers and leaves as well.
Puwak or areca-nut has a branch with a firm and broad base, large and strong enough for someone to sit. When a such branch falls off the tree, you can get together with a friend on a small adventure. You can sit on the base and hold on tight, and the friend can pull you around in a thrilling ride. Do this in turn, and it will be the most funding you have had in a while. We can perform this together with our siblings or friends.

Tik, tik, tik’ The coconut sewing machine spins around. This is made with six pieces of ekel and young coconut. When we place a leaf in the middle and spin it, the coconut machine makes a rhythmical sound, creating a beautiful pattern on the leaf. This is a very funny game when we were an infant.

This game is one of our national games. To play this all players except one sit in a circle with their eyes closed. Next, the child who is the first player stands outside the circle with a small branch in her or his hand and walks around the circle singing the rhyme: “Koppara Koppara, it you look back I will hit you with this branch”. While walking, the child touches one of the children sitting in the circle on the back with the branch and leaves. As soon as the first child touches one of the children seated in the circle on the back with the branch and leaves, the child who was seated must quickly get up and run after them to capture them. If the first child completes a run around the circle the other child must now go around the circle with the branch. If the first child completes a run around the circle and sits in the spot where the other child was sitting without being caught, they win and the other child must now go around the circle with the branch. If the first child does not make it around the circle without being caught, they continue to steps two and three until they sit in another child’s seat without being caught. We did this game mostly in our school Complex.

This is also one of our national games. To play this game one person is inside the circle and one is outside. The person from the inside must be captured by the outside running person. But while tagging the other person, their positions change and the person who is the chasing party must try to get into in-and-out-and in-and-out, until that person succeeds to capture the other person.
My dear friends, I shared with you the games which I used to play as a child, but might not much famous in the world. But present day children are not experiencing those games, as they all are grown up with global technology.
I invite @dove11, @nadiaturrina, @m-fdo, @ana07, and @josepha to participate in this competition. Contest Announcement.

Yes, I thought all these games are limited to our country. I appreciate your reading and comments.
You have the same games like we have in our country and no wonder they are similar. After all we are close neighbors so we have so many things in common. I wish you success in this contest.
OMG, I thought we were the only ones who play these games. As you indicated, we are relatable with the majority of traditional, cultural, and other things. I am awaiting your post.
My childhood games are different as I have mentioned in another comment on this post. I used to play marble, Kabaddi, badminton, cricket and I-Spy etc. and chess from very beginning. My post? ummmm I am not sure 😄🎉
You have another seven days left. Try your best.

Those are some fun games you listed here that we never heard of before hope you enjoyed a lot playing these games with your friends. The game you said about your national game is similar to one of the games we played here called "Aadu puli"(Tiger and Goat). Thanks for sharing with us.
Yes, after reviewing the entry posts for this contest, I saw that most of the games were comparable to ours, with the exception of the names and presentation styles.

Woow me parecen muy interesante estos juegos que nos compartes, me parece muy bonito ver qué con tan poco recursos se podían idear juegos tan entretenidos que le permitan a los niños desarrollar diferentes habilidades y destrezas.
Thank for your lovely comment and to taking time to read my post.
