Before we go into the topic, let's define extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activities are things that happen outside of children's usual schoolwork. They are similar to hobbies and interests in which people engage and participate after school. These activities may include sports, club activities, art, music, or anything else that children’s interest. They aren't mandatory for school, but they enable children to have fun, develop new skills, and make new friends. So, this type of activities significantly help to develop both mental and physical health of a children.

How can extracurricular activities help children's physical and mental growth?

Extracurricular activities play a vital role in kids' physical and mental development. When kids participate in physical activities such as sports, dance, or outdoor activities, their blood circulation system functions effectively, helping them to stay active and healthy. Furthermore, extracurricular activities such as art, music, and drama help to develop children’s mental health. Moreover, participating in club or social services projects helps to improve kid’s social interaction and communication skills. All these activities encourage children to explore their emotions, develop their imaginations, and gain confidence. In this manner, by participating in a variety of activities, children can not only develop their bodies but also their minds, gaining valuable skills and experiences for their entire life.

Do today's children like extracurricular activities, or are they forced to participate by their parents?

In my opinion, children in modern society are less interested in extracurricular activities when consider to our childhood. The majority of parents are on thought of make their children doctors, engineers, or accountants. As the parents focus their children only on the school syllabus, children are hesitant to participate in extracurricular activities. Taking into consideration this situation parents have been influenced by education administration to partake in any extracurricular activity, making it mandatory for school children. Hence, parents encourage their children to participate in extracurricular activities that are appropriate for their abilities.

Furthermore, in today's society, some students keen on social media than extracurricular activities. In such situations, parents encourage their children to participate in extracurricular activities. But some children genuinely engage in extracurricular activities.

Is extracurricular activity necessary for children?

In my opinion, extracurricular activities are not as mandatory as schoolwork. However, it has a direct impact on children's development by encouraging their personal growth, social skills, and an interest in learning outside of academics.

Furthermore, it helps children to increase their self-confidence, promote teamwork, and learn important life lessons such as time management, and responsibility.

Which are the best extracurricular activities for today's children?

The most appropriate curricular activities for today's children are determined by their interests, talents, and goals. While sports encourage physical health, discipline, and teamwork, activities like music, art, dance, and drama help them to develop their talent and creativity. Accordingly, the best extracurricular activities for today’s children are those that match with child’s interests and strengths.

You omitted club activities and social service projects, which may also be considered extracurricular activities. Any form of activity can help them improve their mental and physical health. It also helps children improve their leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence. Thank you for visiting my blog and providing such positive remarks. Have a nice day.

I've also seen a lot of parents who put a big emphasis on finding well-rounded activities their kids genuinely enjoy. I think the balance is so important - not forcing activities, but guiding kids toward positive outlets that mesh with their interests and talents. Like you said so well: "the best extracurricular activities for today's children are those that match with child's interests and strengths."

Yes, some parents force their children to play this and that game after seeing others do so. That may be someone else's passion and skills, but it may not be appropriate for this child. Therefore, it is important to encourage children to pursue any activity that matches their interests and abilities. Thank you for reading my post and providing a positive remark.
