What are the benefits of social media to our society?
We have both advantages and disadvantages of social media, but let's look at the positive side first.

Social media is now called the fourth pillar of democracy, along with other mediums like television and newspapers. Social media is playing an equal role along with mainstream media like TV and newspapers. We can see social media is playing an important role in strengthening our democracy.
I would say that social media is the common man's media because the common man does not have much control over TV and newspapers. Many important issues are not covered by mainstream media, so social media gives voice to such issues.
People give their feedback directly on social media. So in a democracy, social media is a means of direct participation for the common people.
No government or party will let its image get tarnished, so their representatives always keep an eye on social media.
If there is a burning issue in any corner of the country, then when it goes viral, the government officials take immediate action, so we can say that social media brings accountability to bureaucracy and forces them to work.
Social media recognizes the talent of the common man. Social media can help in finding hidden talent. Many common people have become popular and moneyed by using social media.
Nowadays, social media has a big role in digital marketing. Many small businesses get customers on social media. Not only domestic customers but small businesses also get international exposure.

It is very useful in personnel recruitment, training, seminars, meetings, etc.
Funny videos, poetry, motivational quotes, and entertainment are very popular on social media these days. It helps in knowing the culture and people of each other's country. Social media is playing an important role in making the world a global village.
NGOs use social media to understand and reach out to poor and suffering people. It plays an important role in social service, charity, and women and child empowerment.
It plays a crucial role in providing relief to people in any natural and man-made tragedy. It helps tell what is going on in the lives of your friends and about your life. But the issue of privacy comes up in this in a big way and we must address it without fail.
The neglected groups of society can reach their voice to the people through social media. The means of earning people are increasing, companies are creating new posts like social media managers, etc.
Social media influencers are earning a lot. It promotes the culture of working from home as we can complete such work through social media. I believe as the internet penetration increases, social media users will also increase.
Nowadays, young people are always active on social media through smartphones and devices to keep up with every moment's news. I hope they all are using it for a positive outcome.
What are the evils caused by social media in our society?
But along with the benefits, social media also has disadvantages like spreading lies about someone, recruitment for terror activities, cybercrime, data hacking, privacy and safety issues, spreading the feeling of hatred, etc.
Recently we heard about the Arab Spring, which is an attempt to topple democracy in autocratic countries. We have seen disadvantages of the same in recent years, as it excites protesters and used to go against their governments.
But we are all strangers, bound by the relationship of humanity and morality, we cannot give anything to each other except respect, and this is the best practice. While using the Internet, Facebook, or social sites, never forget that here your identity is only with your words.
A smooth conversation will reflect your high training and morality, while a bad conversation will reveal that there is a big gap in your moral education, and this will define your personality. So whenever you speak, speak well, and if you cannot say anything good, then you should remain silent.
Social media is such a medium where a person gets even the smallest information within minutes. It teaches everyone everything from learning to business, jobs, schools, colleges, law, hospitals, villages, cities, and all the news of small and big places. Social media is being used by people more than before, and they are finding out new things by themselves and getting information.
Is social media really useful for common people or corporate companies?
Social media is a medium to connect with other people. While there are advantages, there are disadvantages too. Social media is a medium where people share information, but at the same time, wrong things, or any wrong rumour, violent things, and fraud are also spreading rapidly through this medium, which is not right.
People have become so attached to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and they feel as if they are alone in the world even when they are with their loved ones in real life. Life has also become dull and lost pretense.
Give your personal opinion and conclusion about social media
If people are connecting with each other only by talking about their own interests and that's none of their fault. They earn money and a few of them do just to pass their time. Earlier we used social media, but now I feel it is using people in its interest. Now such businesses have started taking advantage of people and betraying their trust by telling lies.
The worst cases are where they suggest where people should invest their money and misguide them. Recently, we heard Hindenburg again targeting the Adani group of companies by posting misleading information.
In today's time, the more aware people are becoming, the more important social media is. By understanding what's good and bad, we should leave the bad and wrong and do not spread the wrong news.

So true, however the way social media is being used these days creates a few doubts too. The wrong doors and the rumor-mongers making things worse. Lt's make it a place that works in favor of common people.
I can relate with this part a lot because I do it a lot unconsciously. I judge people personality on how they comment on social media. People find it easier to say their mind indirectly through social media why passing their message.
I was telling a friend of mine that if I want to get married today, I will follow the lady closely on social media to watch what she says on her comment section or post because that’s there through nature.
Social media truly has it's pros and cons, although it's a platform for business and other social activities but yet a platform for evil and violence.
Social media addiction is becoming the order of the day,and many tend to believe all stories shared on social media. Anything we want to learn both good or bad can be found in the social media.
I am becoming more addicted to social media these days and I wish to end it. I wish to chanel my energy into something else because it's time consuming and when I see some fake things there, I get worked up. I only wish social media could be one channel for the good only.
