Winter is behind us, spring has gained its strength earlier than usual this year, I stopped putting food in bird feeders, because they can find food for themselves now. But some birds continue to fly to the tree on which the feeders hang. Yesterday there were 3 of these green birds and they were playing their bird games. I understand that these were love games. Today, only one green guy came to visit me, sat on a tree branch and sadly turned his head in all directions.

I really think it's a guy because he has very bright plumage. In the bird world, girls behave much more modestly and do not paint themselves with war paint. Roosters and hens are a prime example of this. The same goes for greenies - bright guys, modest girls.
I can't say anything about parrots, they don't fly by my window. Why? Because in our region they sit in cages in warm apartments.
@patjewell, do you have parrots outside your window?

But this guy looks very proud! Probably, the beak gives it such a look. This beak can crush strong seeds, berries and nuts.
There is an oddity that European Greenfinch are arriving at the moment. Usually the main guests in my garden from spring to autumn are tits, but now I don't see them yet, they don't arrive.

No my friend, unfortunately I do not have parrots in front of my window. How I wish I had.
We do have some Indian Blackbirds. They come once a day, sits on the wooden staircase and call each other.
I often wonder if they don't call us to give the dogs food so that they can also have some.
I will try and see if I can snap a photo or two of them.
PS: I forgot to say that I love your photos!

Oh, I'm even surprised that you don't have parrots flying outside your window.

The only parrots we get in South Africa is the Cape Parrot and there is only a handful of them. You will be very lucky if you spot one of them.
It will be like that moment of yours, in the right spot at the right time.

He's so cute, yet another amazing creation of nature. maybe he wanted you to drop some food for him.

In the bird world, girls behave much more modestly and do not paint themselves with war paint - bright guys, modest girls.

I never thought about it that way but parrots don't approve this division their females and males both are brightly colored sometimes, and the same rule goes with peacocks.

I put food for the birds in the feeder. But now they can get food for themselves, winter is behind them

It always seemed to me that male peacocks have a beautiful tail.

"Externally, the girl peacock is easily distinguished from the male by the color of the feathers. The boys were rewarded by nature with bright plumage with a golden or metallic hue. The feathers shimmer in the sunlight.

In females, the plumage is duller and inconspicuous. The only bright area on the body of the peacock is the neck.

Even the color of the crest differs. Girls wear a faded brown tuft, and boys have it shimmering with bright colors and glistening in the sun."

That's new information to me, Thanks for sharing. plus can we assume the bird was a bit lazy to get food for himself hehe anyways It's so nice of you to put food in the feeder for them in winter, Highly appreciate this act of yours, Thank you.
