Hello again,

In this post I would like to take you through some of the tricks and techniques of creating a neat content to attract to idea of readers and also makes reading your post not only easier but fun too. This would also help your post score more when it comes to curators rewards[1].

The technical term for the techniques of editing posts on steemit is MARKDOWN. Here I show you some of the basic and most important markdowns.

The Heading Markdown

First things first, you would be needing t arrange your content in headings to distinguish between different ideas.
The heading markdown will come in handy here.
Use the pound sign (#) at the beginning of titles to specify headings. One pound sign (#) give the biggest heading, followed by two pound signs (##), in that order until the sixth pound sign (######) which give the smallest heading size.

Example

Heading 1

# Heading 1

Heading 2

## Heading 2

Heading 3

### Heading 3

Heading 4

#### Heading 4

Heading 5

##### Heading 5

Heading 6

###### Heading 6

The Hyperlink Markdown

You are going to need to cite the sources of the information you are sharing here, be it a photo, quotation, video, gif, or any other form of information you share here that is not of your own.
The hyperlink markdown comes in to help you in referencing these informations.
Here’s how you can use the hyperlink markdown.

The Table Markdown

Table helps us to arrange ideas that correspond with one another. For instance, if you want to illustrate different entities and their properties then using a table would the ideal markdown for you.

Example

PersonalityNet worth
@zzzinnn$7.9 trillion USD
@zology69$6.8 trillion USD
@rhyda$5.7 trillion USD
@abdulkahargunu$5.1 trillion USD
@desiigner$4.89 trillion USD

Personality | Net worth
- | -
@zzzinnn | $7.9 trillion USD
@zology69 | $6.8 trillion USD
@rhyda | $5.7 trillion USD
@abdulkahargunu | $5.1 trillion USD
@desiigner | $4.89 trillion USD

The Justify Content Markdown

This markdown helps one produce good user readable paragraphs by spacing out the contents of the paragraphs to occupy the full width of the containing screen for easier readability.
Notice how the contents of this post span across the full width without aligning to the left nor right. I have used the “justify-content” markdown to achieve that.

This is how to use the markdown

<div class="text-justify"> The contents come here </div>

The Center Alignment Markdown

If you want to align the contents of your posts to the center, then this is the markdown to use. It applies in all forms of content; text, photos, videos, and so on.

Markdown Usage

This text is center aligned

<center> This text is center aligned </center>

The Bold/Strong/Emphasis Markdown

This markdown helps to create texts with a “bold” format. We achieve this by placing the text in the middle of four asterisks **BOLD**, two on each side of the text(s).

This Markdown looks like this

This text is bolded
**This text is bolded**

The Italics Markdown

This markdown creates italicized texts. It used by placing texts between two asterisks *ITALICS*, one on each side of the text(s).

One Markdown to bolden and italicize texts

Placing text(s) in the middle of six asterisks ***bold & italics***, three on each side of the text(s) makes texts bold and italic at the same time.

Example

Bold and Italics
***Bold and Italics***

Right & Left Image Alignment Markdown

Right Image
Left Image

<div class="pull-right"> Right Image </div>

<div class="pull-left"> Left Image </div>

Conclusion

These are a handful of the most basic markdowns you would need in most of your posts on here on steemit. Explore them and learn how to use them well and you’d be well on your way to creating aesthetically pleasing and user readable contents.
