Rewards/Post Payout
| The Rewards/Post payout ratio is fixed on the Steem that is 50-50% |
The user who creates content gets 50% from a user who gives votes on that content, the rest of 50% will be distributed to the user who gives a vote as a curation reward.
The user who has a lot of Steem Power can distribute more and attractive rewards through the rewards method.
Even if you get 100 votes on your content still you see payout is shown 0 or less than $1, this is because those 100 users who gave you a vote on your content, they do not have sufficient Steep Power or they have less Steem power. However, a single user who has a huge Steem Power can effect more on reward than those 100 users who have less Steem Power.
Voting and Curating
Voting Mana
Initially, you have a 100% voting mana, when you start up voting on content some amount of voting mana will start decreasing, however, it will get auto-refill too.
Voting Mana is like your body stamina. If you are walking, after some time you feel tired, you will need a rest to recover your self to walk again. If you are running, then after some time you feel tired and you need rest to get refill your stamina.
As mentioned, initially you have 100% voting mana when you do an Up-vote the VP depleting at a rate of 2% with Full weightage, this means at the level of 100% VP after a vote to any post or comments the remain 98%, then at next vote, the VP remains 96%, this way it will decrease by 2% from available full VP.
However, the network recharges your voting power by 20% every day hence it is recommended to maintain your VP above 80%.
Resource Credit(RC) Power: When you make a post, comment on other's posts, and transfer STEEM or SBD the Resource Credit(RC) Power gets used. The more post creates back to back, comments, and transactions, means you are using more Resource Credit(RC).
If you lose all Resource Credit(RC), don't worry it will get autofill back to 100%, but it will take some longer time and you might miss commenting on one of the important posts/replies, miss to create a post at the earliest or get difficulty in some urgent transactions of STEEM/SBD.

Distribution Of Curation Rewards In Author And Curators
As mentioned above, the rewards are distributed equally from the total, so that 50% of the payout goes to the author of the post/comment, and 50% goes to the curator.
There is an additional calculation for curators based on the time when they do a vote and post published time. You will not receive 100% from that 50% of rewards if you vote on which published time is less than 5 minutes.
The above table has been explained below.
- If you vote on a post at the time of a posting, which means if the post publish time and your vote time is almost the same, 100% of the curation reward will remain in the rewards pool.
- If you vote after 1 minute of the post published, the curator receives 20%, and 80% remain in the rewards pool.
- If you vote at 2 minutes of post published, the curator receives 40%, and 60% remains in the rewards pool.
- If you vote at 3 minutes of post published, the curator receives 60%, and 40% remain in the rewards pool.
- If you vote at 4 minutes of post published, the curator receives 80%, and 20% remains in the rewards pool.
- If you vote at 5 minutes (or later) after the post published, 100% of the curation reward goes to the curator.
Steem Blockchain Witnesses
Steem Witness is a person/team who run a server that contains the steem blockchain. Witnesses produce blocks. So it's like the miner of bitcoin but with a twist as Steem Blockchain use DPOS consensus mechanism.
What Steem Witness do?
As the role of steem witnesses, their job is to make sure that the steem blockchain will continue to run smoothly and in a good manner.
A witness provides price feed updates for the market and Steem internal conversion, i.e the STEEM to USD and processes the blocks, mean validating post, votes, resteem, and other life cycles of the blockchain. Like in Bitcoin miners are validating the transaction.
There are 20 full-time witnesses, producing a block every 63-second round.
You will vote for those witnesses which you think worth your support and will be active for a long time.

How to find and join community in Steemit?
What is Community and why we need to be a part of it?
| A community is a group of peoples who are connected with each other. Community allows us to support one another. There are many values of a community like sharing, Division of Work, cooperation, etc.. People from the community will always ready to stand with you, to work with you. |
Hence it is important to be a part of communities as people under your communities are the only first point of contact for you who can help you at any stage.
There are many people, groups/communities are active on the Steemit. You will really like to find and join those groups/communities which have more number of people, the groups/communities as per your interest, who discussed the topics the same you like. Communities encourage members to interact and focus on a specific topic.
As shown in the below picture, once you are on the main page of Steemit, you will see the option "Explore communities…" just below the My communities.
Once you have clicked on the Explore communities, you will see the page and option like below wherein you can find communities with filtering by Rank, New, and Subscribers.
You can also try to search the community in the search bar with a specific keyword that you are looking like Photography, Cryptocurrency, India.
Suggestion: Join a community that at least has some active posted in, it will help you to understand how the community is active on Steemit, like below.

However, there are some areas that need your attention and need correction as well.
Yes true, but at what rate?
Your VP begins at 100% (for a new user), then starts depleting at a rate of 2% with Full weight. Say your VP is 100%, it will be 98% when you vote with 100% weight. Similarly, for the next vote, it will consume 2% of 98%, so the new VP will become 96.04% and so on. Once you achieve 500 SP, a slider will appear to adjust your voting weight.
No, visibility has nothing to do with your voting power. The only point is that if you go on a voting spree, then your vote value decreases as the VP decreases, therefore for optimal use, it is recommended to keep your VP above 80% , considering VP recharges by 20% each day. As such you are free to vote as many as you can. Blockchain will not stop you. The above recommendation of keeping VP at a threshold of 80% is for optimum utilization of your resources.
Yes true, but it is not limited to post or comment only when you make a transfer of STEEM or SBD then also it will consume resource credits.
