Achievement 2 Task: Basic security at steem by @stream4u
Hi All,
Thorugh this Achievement 2 Task, we will discuss the Basic security at steem.
I will not only discuss about the Steem security but also inform you the importance of security.
Security means safety, as well as the measures taken to be safe or protected.
If we think from past about Security password, we can see how the type of security / passwords are changed. Have you thinked why they changed?
Initially, there was only one pasword which we create for self. When it was observed that such passwords are easily geting cracked then next level of password security gets itroduce which is OTP, A one-time password (OTP), also known as one-time pin or dynamic password, is a password that is valid for only one login session or transaction.
When OTP gets down in security then next level came up which is 2FA, Two-factor authentication (2FA), sometimes referred to as two-step verification or dual-factor authentication, is a security process in which users provide two different authentication factors to verify themselves. This process is done to better protect both the user's credentials and the resources the user can access.
Now, Two-factor authentication (2FA) is used in most of the corporation.
With the above information, you will know how our password is important and how we need to secure them.
In security at steem, I don't think I have to explain in depth as all are aware about it at their first login in steemit. Still let me tell you basic on it.
Your all Keys/Passwords are available under "Wallet" which is easily locate at right side.
Once you reach in Wallet, you see the Tab for Keys & Permissions (as shown in below). Here, you will find the Four type of keys available for security purpose.
First, you have to keep these all keys/password on you local drive(Notepad, Wordpad, word document), because once this lose, it will not recover hence for safer side you have to make a copy of these keys so that in such conditions you will be able to recover by your self.
You will see here, there are different types of keys provided to you and also giving information what the use of each key, I have tried to explain the same in below picture.
