Achievement3 by @phlexygee Task: Content Etiquette

Hello wonderful people, I am very excited to have the opportunity to share my views on plagiarism as my next achievement task after the verification of my achievement1 and 2.
The task has never been easy but I keep moving forward gradually with the help of @cryptokannon and the entire steemit community as well.
I will like to express my personal view on plagiarism and provide other definition about the term from the web as well and I will mention the sources of such informations.

What is plagiarism? (my view)
I will submit that plagiarism is the process or the means by which an individual copy from the creative ideas or works of others to produce his or hers without the acknowledgement of the original owner of that work or the source of the information.
Plagiarism is more or less like a literacy theft which mostly happens in the academic field. The discourse community of steemit really frown upon such behavior or act because the aim is to produce good writers or content creators without the infringement of various laws or etiquettes.

How to prevent plagiarism
I think my fellow steemians or comrades should encourage the production and usage of their own works. Steemians should avoid directly copying from others in order to boost their critical thinking ability and their total growth in the academic field as a whole.
In the case where it is necessary or there is no choice but to copy, writers must state the source of their information or findings.

Plagiarism from the internet:

Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulations for examinations, intentional or reckless plagiarism is a disciplinary offence.
The necessity to acknowledge others’ work or ideas applies not only to text, but also to other media, such as computer code, illustrations, graphs etc. It applies equally to published text and data drawn from books and journals, and to unpublished text and data, whether from lectures, theses or other students’ essays. You must also attribute text, data, or other resources downloaded from websites.”

How to prevent Plagiarism:

Cite your source:
When alluding to an idea or wording that’s not your own, add a citation in your writing that identifies the full name of the source, the date it was published, and any other citation element that’s required by the style guide you’re adhering to.
Include quotations:
If you insert a source’s words into your writing, verbatim, one of the most simple yet obvious ways to avoid plagiarism is by using quotation marks around the text to denote that the words aren’t your own. A direct quote should also cite the source so that readers know who the quote is from.
Paraphrasing:
Rewriting a source’s ideas or information into your own words, without changing its meaning. But be careful—paraphrasing can slip into plagiarism if done incorrectly.
Successfully paraphrasing without plagiarizing involves a bit of a dance. Reword and format your writing in an original way, and try to avoid using too many similar words or phrases from the source. The key is to do so without altering the meaning of the idea itself. Remember, you’re still using another’s idea so you’ll need to include a citation to the source.
Present your own idea:
Instead of parroting the source’s ideas or words, explore what you have to say about it. Ask yourself what unique perspective or point you can contribute in your writing that’s entirely your own. Keep in mind that if you’re alluding to a source’s ideas or words to frame your own point, you’ll still need to apply the guidelines above to avoid plagiarizing.
Use a plagiarism checker:
While conducting your research on a topic, some phrases or sentences might stick with you so well that you inadvertently include them in your writing without a citation. When in doubt, using an online plagiarism checking tool can help you catch these issues before submitting your work. source

I have learned a lot about plagiarism so I understand the concept and its implications and I plegde not to be a plagiarist.

I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them.
