WHAT IS PLAGIARISM

This word can play out in different context. Like copying another persons work or taking a photo you did not snap and writing or posting it as your own without referring to the original owner of the work or photo and making people think you wrote it or snapped the photo by yourself.

Now this act is kicked against seriously. For example; in the universities, when you are asked to write a term paper or project, you must have a reference and cite to enable one know where you got your work from.

Just like in videos or music,you normally hear people are being sued for copying their content or music. And this is illegal copyright infringement. Some videos show on the screen that their content isnt originally theirs, so you too shouldnt copy it.

If you want to act a video, in the background you play a song,you have to reference the song to show it isnt yours. All these are plagiarism in any context. In a way or another you have to make people know you didnt get all your words on your own, you copied and you pasted and you references the owner. There are different plagiarisms.

There are some types of plagiarism;

"Direct plagiarism: It is the word-for-word transcription of a section of someone else's work, without attribution and without quotation marks.
source

"Self plagiarism: This occurs when a student submits his or her own previous work, or mixes parts of previous works, without permission from all professors involved. source

"Accidental plagiarism: It occurs when a person neglects to cite their sources or mosquotes their sources. Cases here are taken as seriously as any other plagiarism. source

And just like there are types of plagiarism, there are ways to avoid these plagiarism;

"Cite your source: When alluding to an idea or wordings thats not your owm,add a citation. source

Include quotation: A direct quote should cite the source so that readers know who the quote is from.

Paraphrase: Reward and format gour writing in an original way, try to avoid using too many similar words or phrases from the source.

"Present your own idea: Ask yourself what unique perspective or point you can contribute in your writing thats entirelg your own.
