Hello steemians today in my blog I want to undergo my achievement 3 task on Content Etiquette.
Imagine you have made a lot of research about a particular topic or idea, probably have spent a lot of years on the topic and finally had a breakthrough in your research and publish it only to wake up one morning to realize that someone else has appropriated your work and claimed it's authorship.

The emotion you will probably express is better left unearthed. The same way,plagiarism is tantamount to thievery and is capable of eliciting worse of emotion from the offended, therefore should be conciously avoided.

#Definition
According to Cambridge English Dictionary, plagiarism is "the process or practice of using another person's ideas or work and pretending that it is your own." ^Source

Therefore any act of replicating another person's ideas or work conciously or unconsciously without giving credit to the original manufacturer of the idea or work is plagiarism. In educational setting it is know as literary theft in which the offender can be sue.

Handing in an essay that you did not write.
Copy words or ideas from someone else's work without giving credit.
Failing to put a quote in quotation marks.
Giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation.
Copying sentence structure but changing words around without giving credit.
Copying so many words or ideas from a source, that it makes majority of your work whether you give credit or not." ^Source

Therefore it is important to note that plagiarism in all its forms and purpose should be be avoided,as it makes us liar and thieves and no body likes a liar.It compromises our write up thereby rendering our post fake and scam.

In contrast a rightly cited work not only does it benefits our reader,by offering more content, also bring trust and promote professionalism.
