Hello everyone;
In this writing I will explain various basic security details on steem as well as the different keys and their uses.
The security of our accounts/tokens as a steemer matters alot, to this effect, the steem inc. provided us with different types of keys which serve various purposes. This is to reduce the rate at which users accounts are compromised or tampered with.
The different keys include;

1. Posting/publication key: This key is needed when performing peripheral activities such as; everyday logins, posting of contents, up/down voting, commenting, resteeming e.t.c.

2. Active Key: This is required for more sensitive/delicate tasks which a higher level of security. Such tasks include; transfer of funds, power up/down transaction, conversion of steem dollars and placement of market order.

3. Memo key: A memo is a short message which is sent while transferring steem to other accounts. Therefore a memo key is a key required when writing short messages while transferring steeem.

4. Master/Owner key: This is the most important key as ut is used to derive or change other keys as well as restore a compromised account. It requires the higest level of security.

   Due to the alphanumeric forms of these keys, it makes it difficult to remember all of the keys therefore it is advisable to store or save it somewhere which is secure and can be accessed by only you. For instance; a hard drive or an online cloud.

• First click on wallet

•Click on your steem balance then click transfer.

• Fill in the required details and memo if you have any then click next and confirm the transaction

• Fill in the amount of steem you want to use , then click power up
