My personal experience with raining season

INTRODUCTION

Hello friends, I am so happy to be here to participate in this engagement challenge for season 17 week I, we have about two seasons in my country Nigeria. I will love to share my ideas and experience for this two seasons, before I proceed I will love to invite my friends to join me in the contest, @ngoenyi, @goodybest and @inpiracions

How many seasons in your country? Which one is your favorite and why?

Nigeria, my country and it is located in West Africa, it has two distinct seasons which are the rainy season and the dry season. The rainy season, usually occur in the month of April to October, it is classify by the heavy rainfall and high humidity. The dry season usually takes place from November to March, is set apart by the dry weather and the harmattan winds.

Now let's talk about my favorite season, my favorite season in my country is the dry season. Though there are so many seasons in my country but there is a reason why I chose dry season over the rainy season. The dry season normally comes with cooler temperatures, it makes life so comfortable expercially when you are outside and when you get involved with outdoor activities. When there is no rain that means there will be less risk of flooding and waterlogged streets, which are common occurrences during the rainy season. Additionally, the dry season is when festivals and cultural events are most celebrated in Nigeria, providing ample opportunities to experience the rich cultural heritage of the country.

I am a victim of raining season, it nearly kill me and my family , I was a nursing mother and you know at that time I couldn't do anything, once there is rain my heart will start cutting because I will be panicking of the rain entering my house.

You can see my late husband trying to protect his work from being destroyed by the heavy rain, at this period my little kids then won't be able to play outside, every one will be crying.

We only enjoy during the dry season because then everywhere will be dryed, it is only the ground that will show a little sign of flood.

same outside without rain.

At the dry season the environment will be so dry for one to live, my children will be able to play round the compound without being afraid of flood.

The dry season is also the best time for tourist in Nigeria, because the weather is always comfortable for sightseeing.

If there was one season you wanted to skip forever, which one would it be? Explain the reason.

Honestly there is a season.i really want to skip and that is raining season. The rainy season in Nigeria normally start between May and October as I earlier stated, it usually comes with a heavy downfall, flooding, and increased humidity.

  • These season normally affects our life in a very negative way. The main reason why i might want to skip the rainy season is due to the uncontrollable flood that usually occurs during the raining season. This Flood can cause a lot of harm at homes, roads, and infrastructure, which can lead to damage and loss of livelihood for many people.

  • The rainy season normally comes with so many diseases, for example malaria and waterborne illnesses, because of stagnant water which gives access to breeding ground for mosquitoes and this season you can't even mistaken keep your door open because of fear of mosquitoes.

  • Another aspects why I will wish to skip the he raining season is because it can cause problems to transporters and also communication networks, it's normally makes life difficult for people going to work and school and the business people are always affected the most because they will be experiencing lack of sales and losses.

Describe a traditional or special activity that people in your country do during a particular season.

My country Nigeria is a place rich in different cultures and traditions, one of the special activities that people do engage in during a particular season is the celebration of the annual Yam Festival, which normally held during the harvest season. The Yam Festival is a traditional ceremony which is normally celebrated by the Igbo people in Nigeria just to give thanks to the gods for a bountiful harvest and to offer prayers for a successful planting season.

When ever is Yam Festival, people from different communities will come together to celebrate the abundance of yams. During this yam festival there is always a traditional dances, music, feasting, and rituals which is been lperformed to honor the deities and ancestors that their beliefs is to protect the community and thinking of a good harvest.

Are there any special foods or drinks that people in your country enjoy most during certain seasons? If so, what is it and why?

In my country, there are so many special foods and drinks that are been enjoyed by our people during a certain seasons. We have a special food that is been loved by everyone and is usually cooked during the Christmas season, this special food is fried rice. It is a food that is been served during Christmas gatherings and parties, with families, at these season the families will gathered and enjoy the delicious meal.

Hello dear friend,
Your writing style is amazing. When I started reading your post, I read it completely. I saw that in your place, waterlogging on roads during rainy season is a matter of great concern.
It is very scary that if the water level is a little high and water enters the house, then dirty water brings disease and also ruins the things kept in the house.

Best of luck , may you achieve wealth , health , success and prosperity in your life Greetings from my side . Have a nice day .

My dear, it wasn't an easy tasks for me that year, but we later pack out from the estate

Upvoted. Thank You for sending some of your rewards to @null. It will make Steem stronger.

You're writing as if you're in my mind. Every year there's always a news of flooding, how flooding has kill people, how flooding and taken people house , and a lot more. You also explained how it's affected your late husband works as well as your children unable to play outside. Among the two season you choose to skip raining seasons because of the too much disadvantage like flooding. Your rice and zobo looks delicios but am just curious to ask, shey na you go finish all the food? Good luck sister. I wish you the best.

The food was not meant for me alone, it was for my kids too. Thank you for your time

you're welcome ma.

Hai teman

Salam teman...

Yes the two seasons in my country is always amazing but a little bit disturbing when the rain is heavy
