Israel's foreign minister, Israel Katz, has been condemned for calling for the evacuation of Palestinians from their homes in the occupied West Bank during a major Israeli assault.

The move came as Israel launched its largest operation in decades, resulting in at least 17 deaths.

The European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, criticized the Israeli military operation as unacceptable, while Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi called it a dangerous escalation.

Turkey's Foreign Ministry condemned Israel's actions, stating that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government's policies were the main threat to international security.
