Greetings dear friends,
How are you all my friends? I hope all of you are well by the grace of Almighty Allah. Alhamdulillah I am also well by the grace of Allah. I am also well by God's grace and your love. It's been a week and I'm here with my next part. So before I start the new part I am sharing the old part post link for your better understanding. And the topic I discussed in Part 4 is Functionality of feed pump & cooling tower in wastewater treatment and how it works. Problems encountered and their solutions.. And today I will discuss Importance and process of PH-Correction in ETP plant. Besides I also discuss many more things. So let's start.

This week I will discuss the important things that are essential in Etp plant. When raw wastewater comes to the plant, the pH of the water is very high because the chemicals used for dyeing clothes are alkaline, so the pH of this wastewater is usually high. So the pH of this water needs to be controlled.

Controlling the water temperature and pH is also necessary to make the plant suitable for bacteria to live in. As I said earlier our plant is a biological plant so we use aerobic bacteria to purify the water. And the ideal pH of our water here is 6 to 9. The pH of the water in our plant is always kept between 7.5 and 8.5. That is, it is purified and removed from the plant.

Since water is highly alkaline i.e. pH is high, we use sulfuric acid to control this pH. If you look at the picture, you will see that next to the pipe where the waste water is coming from, there is a small pipe from where this sulfuric acid comes out and immediately reacts with the water to reduce the alkalinity.

A natural question that comes to mind is how this acid dosing is controlled? A pH sensor and a water flow meter sensor are being used in this chamber or tank of our plant. With the PH sensor we can easily see the current pH of the water. And the pH dosing is done automatically which is set to the specified level of pH dosing label in our control room. Automatically pH dosing will start whenever the pH exceeds that value. And if the pH is low it will stop.

The pH and flow meter box is used to check the flow velocity and pH value of the wastewater.

And we all pretty much understand what a flow meter is. It is the inlet flowmeter of our plant through which we understand how many cubic meters of water is coming from our plant every hour for treatment. And we control the flow of this water through the valve set at the output of the feed pump which I mentioned earlier.

This tanks used for application of different types of fertilizers for bacterial growth.

In this pH correction chamber we have to do one more thing and that is fertilizer application. We need to apply fertilizers for bacteria to survive and grow. We apply fertilizers like Urea, DAP and occasionally Chitagur in specific quantity every day. It is very important for bacterial growth.

In the maintenance of this tank, we have to pay more attention to the pH sensor used here, because this sensor constantly accumulates dirt and covers the surface of the sensor, so acid dosing cannot be done if the reading is not correct. So we clean once in every shift so that the acid dosing is done properly. This is how we maintain this pH correction tank every day. There are still some relevant things related to this tank which we will discuss in more details in the future.
