Namaste Steem India Members,

My name is Ravi Gohel, I am a moderator here at Steem India Community. I have a background in Computer Science and Data Science, and I think my background has helped me understand many things happening on the Steem blockchain and things happening in our community in particular.

As most of you might have already seen that our community is lacking in support, I have observed that only a handful of authors are trying their best to create good quality content, and most of the members who joined us are either creating lesser quality content or not creating any content at all.

To resolve this issue, I have come up with a few tips and some guidelines for our community members. If you follow them, I guarantee you that you will start seeing positive change in our community, and we will also start getting support from curator accounts and other big accounts as well.

To make it easy to understand I have divided this post into several parts. Each part has an important tip or guideline to help you get more rewards. You can follow these tips and guidelines and see the results for yourself at the end of each month, I am sure that the progress you will see will be positive and it will help your account to grow more rapidly.

So, let us start with the tips and guidelines that are crucial for the growth of Individual accounts and our community.

Tip #1: Focus on Categories laid out in each Steemit Curation Themes

For the past two months, most of you might already have come across the curators’ comments on some posts, or maybe your own post got a comment from these curation accounts.

There are a total of five curation accounts made for specifically curating content posted in some specific categories or themes decided by the Steemit team.

Which curation account is used to curate which category and the names of the members of the team who are curating these topics are not necessary and won’t be shared in this post. To know more about them you can visit this post created by the @steemitblog team.

Now, let us talk about all the categories in which you can create your posts. If you start posting in these theme categories, the curators will come to reward your posts for sure, and this is going to happen only if you create a good quality post that gives out value to its readers.

There are some conditions that you should fulfill before you start creating content in any category but we will talk about them at the end of this post.

So, the theme and the categories that you can start posting in are as follows:

Category Theme #1: Arts (Managed by @janemorane and their team members)

  1. Arts - Anything that is related to painting, drawing, or sketching can be posted in this category. The art you create can be made digitally or offline, but the only ask here is that it should be yours only. Because when an author uses someone else’s work and says it's theirs, is called a type of stealing and you might get blacklisted for doing this. So, you should strive to give quality in your posts by only posting things that you have made.

Tags you should use for this category: #art, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  2. Crafts - In this category, you can post any craft-related post. The craft can be anything from an origami or jewelry design or maybe a gift making. Since the craft category can have a wide variety of things that you can post, we will not go into details about what you should post and what you should not. You can research more about the things you can work on and start posting in this category.

    Tags you should use for this category: #crafts/ #handicrafts, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  3. Photography - Who does not love to see good photographs clicked at the perfect time. You can go out and click some amazing pictures and share them with other users. You can capture nature, individuals, lifestyle, culture, businesses and so much more. But the real thing that I think curators will be watching is how you write about them. So for example I capture a person who is a street vendor, and the picture comes out awesome, but now I have to write about the person, what is the person selling, maybe share why he is selling the things in particular, what is his family background, etc. So, you have to write something about the subject you capture in your photography.

Tags you should use for this category: #photography, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  4. Music - Music is not only beats and lyrics. Music binds people through emotions and meaning. The music you share in this category should be developed by you and must not be stolen from the internet. You can describe how you created the track and what inspiration you got before making the music and how you made it.

    Tags you should use for this category: #music/ #dance, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  5. Poetry - Poets have been an important part of our cultural communities, and their poems have had many things that describe their surrounding environment, politics, culture, and psychology. So you can share the poem written by you, but also you can describe and try to make readers understand what your poem is about and how you got the motivation to write it.

Tags you should use for this category: #poetry, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  6. Creative Writing - Short stories, scary stories, personal life stories that are created to give out messages to people and entertain them are what I think should be posted in this category, although there are more topics and genres you can write about, I hope you get the idea.

    Tags you should use for this category: #creative, #writing, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

Category Theme #2: Finance & Technology (Managed by @kouba01 and their team members)

  1. Finance - Did you learn something related to personal finance that can help other people manage their finances? Maybe you have worked with an organization that is involved in finance, and you can share something that can help people understand more about finance. Money CAN buy happiness but only when you know where to use it, so share your learnings and findings related to finance in this category.

    Tags you should use for this category: #FinTech, #Finance, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  2. Business - Do you have a business idea but do not have the funds to start it? Maybe your friends or family is running a business and you are impressed with them, the way they run their business and make a profit. Maybe you have an innovative idea that people of Steem can work on. So you can share all of them in this category. Talk about business-related ideas and methods that are used and worked on in your area.

    Tags you should use for this category: #FinTech, #Business, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  3. Crypto - Most of the people here on Steemit have already seen Crypto Professor produce exceptional tutorials for us in the past. The last season of Steemit Crypto Academy ended recently, and you can learn so much from the academy. Trading, new projects, and so much more. You can share your perspective on the Crypto and the projects you like and how these projects are helping the world of blockchain. There are so many things you can talk about, but before posting, you should research the topic you are going to talk about and then only start writing.

    Tags you should use for this category: #FinTech, #Crypto, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  4. Science - Science and mathematics are the mother and father of all innovations. I think humanity has achieved so much just because we, humans are inquisitive and always exploring things. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Environment, Geology, Astronomy and so many more subjects fall into this category. I think even if you post one topic every day in this category, you won’t be able to cover all the discoveries we have made in Science in the next hundred years. So, I guess you have more than enough topics to talk about in this category.

    Tags you should use for this category: #FinTech, #Science, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  5. Technology - Technology does not only mean gadgets, there is more to it than that. Although you can talk about gadgets and how they have made a positive effect on your life. I think only talking about them is not enough but people can research the developments in the technology field and I am pretty much sure that you will find a sh*tload of content in this category to talk about in your posts.

    Tags you should use for this category: #FinTech, #Technology, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  6. Computing - The amalgamation of mathematics, science, and technology has brought about so many changes to our lifestyle, computers are one of them. If you are learning about something related to programming and computers, you can share about it in your posts. I have curated some posts in this category and found that people only talk about the beginning of the computers, who invented them, and the basics of the computers. Why not create a good tutorial on how to use excel sheets, why not create a tutorial on how to surf anonymously online. There are so many things you can talk about, so research better and create your best post.

    Tags you should use for this category: #FinTech, #Computing, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

Category Theme #3: Lifestyle (Managed by @event-horizon and their team members)

  1. Health - You might have heard this already but let me share it with you here. “Health is Wealth”. This is an old saying that is making rounds in every culture, and it is because it has a deep meaning to it. Without health, you cannot do anything and the road to wealth opens up only when you are healthy, and that is true both mentally and physically. In India, there are many “Daadi Naani ke Nuskhe” that translates to “Remedies of our Grandmothers”. One of them is the use of household ingredients like garlic, turmeric, and other spices in making our bodies healthier. The health category is so wide that you can never run out of topics to talk about.

    Tags you should use for this category: #Lifestyle, #Health, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  2. Fitness - Yoga, Callisthenics, Running, and many other practices are popular these days and all of them have one goal in common, to make you fit and healthy. Talk about them in your posts and maybe your post will have a positive impact on somebody’s life.

    Tags you should use for this category: #Lifestyle, #Fitness, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  3. Sports - In our country, we play so many sports and whenever there is a big event happening in sports, we celebrate it like a festival. Cricket, Kabaddi, and Hockey are some of the sports we Indians love and watch devotionally. You can talk about these sports and how people play them in your country. What events happen in these sports every year and how do local people play them.

    Tags you should use for this category: #Lifestyle, #Sports, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  4. Leisure - Free time is a time when most people love to either take a rest or do something productive. You can talk about what you do in your free time. Maybe you love knitting, or maybe you love reading books. Free time can be used to develop some habits or can be used to develop yourself as a human being. Many people are now indulging more in consuming content, but why not use the time to create some content.

    Tags you should use for this category: #Lifestyle, #Leisure, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  5. Food - Food is life, and food is heaven. Yes, many people live by this. They love to eat and love to talk about eating different dishes and cuisines from all around the world. We Indians are blessed with flavors and indigenous spices that make our food unique to our land. And I know many people from around the world love Indian food. Talk about the food you made on a particular day, and maybe share some pictures of the food with the users. All of us love food and nobody is going to hate a picture of a dish that is made in your country only.

    Tags you should use for this category: #Lifestyle, #Food/ #Garden, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  6. Travel - I love to travel but due to the past few years of confinement, I got no chance to go out of my city. Traveling to nature and places of interest are loved by everyone and if you share your experience of traveling with others, we will feel as if we were with you there. In a way, you will help so many people to travel and see places with your eyes and that too without going there.

    Tags you should use for this category: #Lifestyle, #Travel, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

Category Theme #4: My Life (Managed by @vvarishayy and their team members)

  1. The Diary Game - This is like a journal entry that you should be doing offline but doing it online and getting rewards for it is another level of achievement. Many people do not have the habit to do it on a regular term, but if you are getting rewards for sharing your daily routine and things you did on a particular day is a plus point for sharing it in the first place.

    Tags you should use for this category: #TheDiaryGame, #BetterLife, #MyLife, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  2. My Town in Ten Pics - Many people think that their town or city does not have anything of value, and this is true only until you go out and explore the surroundings. If you go out and explore your city, you will find more than a hundred places of interest that you can show other users on Steemit. You must use the location and coordinate marker apps to pinpoint the locations you visit on a map, and when people visit your town or city, they will have a post as a guide for visiting these amazing places.

    Tags you should use for this category: #MyTownIn10Pics, #Life, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  3. Acts of Kindness - Doing an act of kindness cannot hurt anybody and the result of doing them is that you get that inner happiness and the person you showed kindness to will forever be grateful to you. Donating clothes, blankets, food, and other such items that can be used by people who need them can be shared in your posts. Maybe help someone in a while to cross the road, or maybe help someone set up a small roadside shop and share your experience with others in your post.

    Tags you should use for this category: #ActOfKindness, #Humanity, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

  4. Charity - When we go out to eat or enjoy, we are sometimes left with change in our pockets. Why not try to gather all this change and give it out to charity. Charity can also be done for kids who do not have the funds to get themselves educated. Help animal rescue organizations with donations. Help people with disabilities with funds. Sharing these kinds of charity moments of your life in a post will help other people understand how blesses some of us are and how others don't get everything we get normally in our lives.

    Tags you should use for this category: #Charity, #Humanity, #country, #club, #steemexclusive

Category Theme #5: Steem Growth (Managed by @disconnect and their team members)

  1. Steem Growth - The growth of the Steem blockchain is very important for the price of Steem to rise. You can share your work with others that you are doing to accelerate the growth of Steem in your posts.

    Tags you should use for this category: #SteemGrowth, #country, #club, #steemexclusive, #steemit

  2. Learn With Steem - Making other people realize that there is a platform on the internet where they can share so many things and get rewarded in return for their contribution is not a difficult task but we should plan and execute marketing tactics to bring more writers and investors to Steem platform. You can create good quality tutorials for Steemians and other people who are not yet on Steem blockchain.

    Tags you should use for this category: #LearnWithSteem, #country, #club, #steemexclusive, #steemit

  3. Development - There was a time when more people took interest in developing tools and platforms for the Steem blockchain. Even now there are a few people who are developing awesome tools to help users of Steem blockchain. If you are one of the developers and would like to develop a tool or even a website for Steem blockchain, you can share the process and milestones of your development in your posts, and maybe some investors will invest in your ideas.

    Tags you should use for this category: #Development, #country, #club, #steemexclusive, #steemit

  4. Contests - There are so many contests being organized every day on Steemit and so many more people are starting to organize contests every day. Taking part in these contests may reward you with a good amount of Steem or Tron tokens. You too can organize some contests to encourage users to participate in Steem more.

    Tags you should use for this category: #Contest, #country, #club, #steemexclusive, #steemit

Tip #2: Focus on Quality and not Quantity

Many people who write and post on Steemit have the intention of just getting a few Steem tokens at the end. But if they started putting more effort to produce quality content, they would be rewarded more and as a result, would be getting more Steem tokens. So, what you should do as an author on Steemit is that you start producing quality content, that adds value not only to the community you are posting in but also to an individual’s life as well.

Write as if this is your last post. Add any detail that you think is necessary to make your post’s quality better. Put more effort into researching the subject you want to write about and then only go on about writing in that subject. An extra hour put in researching is not going to hurt you but is only going to increase the quality of the topic you are writing about.

Tip #3: Participate in Contests

I can not emphasize enough on this, but I will say it again that you should always be on the lookout for contests that excite you. And the thing is, you do not have to search for contests yourself but our friend @disconnect shares the number of contests happening daily on his profile, so check him out and start following him to get all the information about the upcoming contests.

The most exciting thing about participating in the contest is that you get liquid rewards for submitting your best entry and you also get to know how other people are going about creating posts for a specific contest. You learn so many mini things to increase the quality of your post and also you earn rewards and the trust of other authors who are participating in a contest. Maybe at the end of a contest, some people will start following you. And the followers and learnings are for a lifetime, nobody is going to take away that from you.

Tip #4: Participate in Steemit Crypto Academy

The Crypto Academy is a community that focuses on creating tutorials for Steem members. The tutorials are of high quality and you can start participating in creating assignments only after reaching certain milestones, like the last Crypto Academy season demanded the participants to at least have a reputation of 55 and 500 Steem power in their wallet.

The requirements are very easy to achieve and once you achieve these requirements, you can start producing assignments for the academy. The rewards are also decent for the work you put in your assignments, and the last season not only had the assignments but also gave out trading tasks to its members. So, a person who wants to increase the value of their wallet can start participating in the next season of Steemit Crypto Academy and also learn from the tutorials about trading and blockchain technologies.

If you want to read more about the Crypto Academy, you can go through this article that is from the last season of the crypto academy.

You may also consider following @steemitblog for getting updates on the new season of the Steemit Crypto Academy.

Tip #5: Post Steemexclusive Content Only

Posting content that is exclusive to the Steem ecosystem is considered for giving out rewards than the content that is posted on other blockchains or websites. An author who puts effort to produce content that is exclusive to Steem has more chances of getting rewarded on their posts, so you should consider this and start producing #steemexclusive content on your profile. This not only says that you are loyal to the platform but also helps the platform with unique content that increases the overall value of the platform.

Tip #6: Follow Club Statuses

There are three club statuses that you can start following after one month of posting on Steemit. So, let us understand how these club statuses work and how you can start participating once you have cleared all the requirements for each of them. Since the club status is calculated at the end of each month, you can also calculate them by yourself by visiting this website created by @coding-gorilla. You just have to replace the username in the link and check your status by choosing the months.

  1. #Club5050 - The 5050 club status can only be achieved once an author has powered up 50 percent of their liquid rewards and has either withdrawn the rest of the rewards or has saved them on their wallets. The period for achieving this club status is 1 month.

  2. #Club75 - If you have powered up 75 percent of your liquid rewards and have either withdrawn the rest of the rewards (i.e. 25 percent) or have saved them in your wallet, you are considered to be in this club. The period to achieve this club status is 2 months. This means that you will have to continuously power up 75 percent of your rewards for 2 months straight.

  3. #Club100 - If a person is powering up all of their liquid rewards and is not withdrawing any of the rewards for 3 months straight, then they are considered to be in this club. Club 100 can only be achieved after 3 months of powering up 100 percent of the liquid rewards.

You can read more about this topic in this post made by @steemitblog. I hope that this information clears all the doubts you might have.

Guidelines for getting your posts curated every time

  1. Do not produce content that has less than 300 words, even though many communities and contests demand that you produce content that has at least 300 words, I would suggest that you write at least 500 words.

  2. Always use proper tags, curators are always in search of good quality content but if your post does not have proper tags, they won't be able to find your post.

  3. Always post your content in a community that is related to the subject you are talking about.

  4. Do not tag hundreds of people in your posts, you can although tag concerning people that need to see your post.

  5. Try to achieve higher club status. If you have achieved #club5050, then try to achieve #club75, or maybe #club100 if possible.

  6. Use your own images. You can create good thumbnails or images using Canva or any other software or website of your liking. Using other people's images is seen as stealing and that you should not be doing.

  7. Try to reduce the size of the images you upload to load your post in less time. I have described this point in detail in my post. So, try to learn how you can do this.

  8. Never Plagiarize, you can get banned from communities and from getting your posts curated if you do so.

  9. Always give proper sources to the images you have used. The images that you use from the internet must be copyright-free images. You can use Pixabay or Pexels for getting good quality copyright-free images in your posts.

  10. Do not ever indulge in vote buying from bid-bots or voting-bots. This will put your account at risk for not getting support from any curator. You will have zero chances of growing your account organically if you use bots.

Engagement is very important for your account's growth and the growth of the Steemit platform.

Engagement means you are making meaningful comments on other people's posts and other people are then making meaningful comments on your posts. Not only comments, but also giving out vote to authors whose post you like is considered engagement, even if your single 100 percent vote does not give out any value to the post. You should read the post and make meaningful comments and also upvote the post to let other people know that the post is of high quality.

I hope you liked reading this tips and guidelines post. It took so many hours to write this, so I would appreciate if you could share this post with others.
