Greetings! I hope everyone here is doing well and enjoying their life by the Grace of Allah Almighty. Today I'm here to take part in the contest organised by @suboohi and the topic is "Awareness About Hypertension". It is very important to discuss about this topic and how to treat this because every year the percentage of hypertension is increasing.

Do you know what hypertension is ?

Yes, I know what Hypertension is because my mother is suffering from it on almost regularly basis. It is commonly known as High Blood Pressure or High BP, which is the condition where the force of blood against the walls of arteries is consistently too high. You can take example of water flowthrough a hose with to much pressure.

This condition is very serious and can strain the heart, damage blood vessels, and lead to serious health issues like heart attack, stroke, or kidney damage. I have also seen people who died because of high blood pressure. That's why it is important to manage hypertension in time to avoid such serious damages.

Are you aware of symptoms of hypertension?

Yes, I know about the symptoms of hypertension. Sometimes hypertension shows very visible symptoms like your heart will start beating very fast, face skin gets red, you will feel heat coming out of your body, headache, dizziness and shortness of breath. But sometimes hypertension doesn't show any of these symptoms and still your blood pressure go up.

I remember a person whose BP was 150+ and still that person was working without any issue. So it depends on a person's internal health. But still we need to regularly do checkup and monitoring of blood pressure especially adults because it can damage alot if not cured in time.

Can hypertension lead to other health problems?

Yes hypertension can lead to other health problems like strain in heart and blood vessels. The strains must be cured in time because they can cause heart attacks, heart diseases, strokes, and kidney damage. High blood pressure can also damage the arteries over time which makes them narrow and less flexible, which can further risk heart.

Moreover, hypertension can cause some serious issues in men's health and in complications during pregnancy for women. It can make your life stressful if you don't take it seriously. In next answer I have mentioned how to manage it.

Do you think lifestyle changes can effectively manage hypertension?

Yes, that is the most effective way to treat hypertension. Lifestyle changes is very effective in high blood pressure. Most important in lifestyle change is to start eating healthier foods such as fruits with good juice ratio, vegetables and whole grains. Moreover, if you add physical activities in your daily routine like swimming, cycling, walking, jogging, running, or biking, it can help you lower your blood pressure.

Also changing your lifestyle by quiting smoking, reducing alcohol intake can also positively affect on your high blood pressure. These lifestyle changes can help you reduce high blood pressure and also the risk of heart diseases and strokes. Furthermore, one can perform relaxtion techniques like deep breathing, meditation, or yoga to help lower blood pressure. If one take these seriously, it can positively affect hypertension.
