SteemAlive Presents: Our Very first Community Update post - Update #1.
Introduction
We are thrilled to make this very first community uodate post for SteemALive!!! Since the last few weeks, we have been making changes to our community activities and projects in order to achieve higher targets and sustain growth. The changes made have brought about about improved content quality and enhanced post engagement levels. And now, we are excited to introduce the community update for the previous week.
As suggested by the Steemit team, the aim of this update is to provide a review of community activities in the last 7 days. It is beneficial both for the admin and members to keep track of all that has been going on and follow up. So this update contains our community activities in the in the last 7 days that ended on Saturday 14/8/2021. The next section of this post contains those important activities we got involved in.
1. CryptoAcademy Workshop
We have dedicated every Tuesday night to the cryptoacademy workshop. It is a mentorship class where advanced students of the academy provide a review of each week's courses and provide some useful tips to help students do well in their homework. Last Tuesday was no different. @fredquantum and @focusnow run the class. At the end, students were more equipped to face the tasks for the week. Interestingly, there have been a high pass rate since our members started following the workshop.
2. CryptoAcademy Open Happiness week 6
We do not just run workshops to teach students what to do, we motivate them for putting effort to attempt the class. That is the essence of the Cryptoacademy Open happiness. We invite eligible members of our community to apply to receive support on homeworks where the score is between 4 and 6.
Last week, we made a post and asked our members to drop their week 6 homeworks rated 4-6 so we could support them with extra free steem as motivation. 4 Students applied. They are
- @alexanderpeace - Week 6 homework
- @yakspeace - Week 6 Homework
- @ochang - Week 6 Homework
- @charis20 - Week 6 Homework 1, Homework 2, Homework 3
After going through their work, we sent them Steem from the 90 Steem donated by advanced members of the class. The screenshot below shows how much steem each received.
Note: @alexanderpeace got extra 2 steem for a Week 4 homework she forgot to include in the previous week Open happiness support
3. Building our Curation Trail
The community relied heavily on our curation trail to support member posts. The trail account is @steem-alive. We continue to advertise and encourage both members and other users to join our trail. The trail is currently the most followed with 288 members. We hit that 1st spot last week and have maintained the growth. We are voting with $3 - $4 at full weight
4. Our New Support Structure
We usually evaluate our projects and systems to see if anything could be changed or enhanced. Our system of voting member posts in city turns has a loophole - some members simply wait for their turns, make a post and get the vote. Then they disappear.
We have adopted a new system whcih gives priority to members that are actively supporting community growth. So, they level of support to member posts depends on how much they are doing to stay active and particiapte in community activities. Interestingly, many love it and our community engagement level rose sharply. We hope this new system creates the kindly of robust engagement and activities required from a community of our stature. 5. We Powered up 350 Steem under Save2Soar
We started Save2soar on February 2021. Our plan is to save steem weekly and power up for 1 year. Last week was the 28th week. We powered up a total of 350 Steem. We have hit a total of 10,5092 Steem power in the @save2soar wallet as shown below:
