Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 2 | Promote Steem in your City and try to recruit a new user!

Introduction

Good day friends I am glad participating in this contest because it has to do with the growth of my favorite social media platform steemit. Before this contest I had been promoting steemit in my locality, to my friends, to my family, to my relatives and neighborhood, because I believe in a greater steemit in the nearest future.

Where you able to sign up new users? If yes, how did you convince them to join?

After doing all I have to do at home, I went on steem promotion, so I went to where I am sure to meet the youth in their numbers. So I decided to go to the small field where Youth do go for football training and exercise, at noon most youth with their girlfriends do go to play football while the rest laugh or cheer them up outside the field. So i went there I at first, I started Promotion to the youth not paying the ball I was talking to one guy when I heard my name, so I turned to know whose calling me and to my greatest surprise it was my cousin brother Ebuka.

I was So happy and glad that I paused the promotion just to give him a hug, we were happy seeing each other then he told me he jus came back that day and went to my house in the evening but I wasn't at home, so he decided to come and play football.

After the match I spoke to the remaining youth but they were not interested yet, so while going home I told ebuka about steemit and because he trusted me he agreed without argument and I started telling him about steemit. So he reached his house but it was already late and I had to let him rest and bath, so I went home to rest to.

So after 2 hours I chatted him up and I spoke to him about what we were talking earlier and he said he was ready, so I guided him through Whatsapp messages. I sent him pictures I saved while creating a new account for my new invite to steemit last month.

So I would be guided using images, message and voice note and he would give me feedback when he finds it necessary, We did that until he successful created account then I started telling him about his keys, theirs use case and their importance, I also told him to save it in all save offline spots. So the next day I went to his house to help him write his Achievement 1 post.

What methods did you use in promoting Steem (e.g word of mouth, social media, etc)

As I said earlier I used different medium to communicate and promote steemit to the youth, at first I purposely wore my Promotion T-shit because it helps makes steemit a legalized and official platform. When I can't reach them physical I make use of other popular social media and messaging platform, like Facebook Twitter and WhatsApp to guide my invites to easily join steemit safely and easily.

How did people respond to your promotion efforts?

To be sincere the experience is not always good because so many would just try to get you angry for accusing you of deceiving them just to scam them even when I show them my blog and withdrawal transactions, some also want to distract their friends by telling the to ignore you while some good ones would just listen quietly, asking questions when it necessary and promise to get back to you after thinking about my proposal.

What are the main challenges that hinder users from joining?

• One of the reasons people hardly accept to join steemit is that the had previous encounters and experience with different online means of making money and they were scammed which broke their trust on any online source of income.

• Some say they are not actually good or creative writers, so therefore making an article with more than 300 words would be so stressful and almost impossible.

• Some say because vote are not guaranteed, they don't have the patience and endurance to write a creative article and it don't get rewarded.

• Some left because the want a platform that don't need saving rewards or power ups of their rewards.

• Some said their phone battery is low or the don't have an Android phone to use

• At times network is very bad causing it impossible to access steemit sign up page and some don't have data bundles to go online.

What are the main challenges you faced during Steem Promotion

✓ That day steemit server started it problem, because it was unreachable and this affected the willing few to join. Some said it scared them and the changed their mind

✓ Another big and common challenge is that Steem sign up page usually misbehaving by showing "Insufficient place", I don't know if it's network related or caused by traffic on the site but it really need to be resolved.

✓ Some users do accidentally miss or forgot to Download their pdf.

My Suggestion to the Challenges

✓ I would advise that the front end should be edited and remove that click here to download and replace with download your pdf

And users should be notified, if it was successfully downloaded. I emphasized on this because I have fallen victim twice.

✓ This sign up page should be made lighter, so it would load faster. A newbie might be discouraged thinking the site is filled but only an experienced promoter like me will know it's just an error. so this error should be worked on and a positive result should be implemented.

✓ Like some other platform it would be nice if steemit have multiple front end page, so if one is having issues the others would grant users easy access to steemit, this would solve the server error and sign up error to.

If possible try hard to recruit one user and assist them to do their introduction post.

Conclusion

Promoting steemit is essential to all steemians, because the growth of of steemit is indirectly the growth of every one of us. So I want to use this medium to ask everyone to try promote steemit regularly.
