Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 2 | Promote Steem in your City and try to recruit a new user by @ngoenyi

Introduction

An old woman doesn't grow old in the music she knows how to dance well. @ngoenyi is a renowned steem promoter and will not easily retire out from that. She still smells every opportunity that is available to ensure that she promotes Steem. This contest that is organized by SteemAlive community has brought another wonderful opportunity for steem promotion to my doorstep and I have grabbed it with hesitation.

What methods did you use in promoting Steem (e.g word of mouth, social media, etc)

I used word of mouth this time to spread the news about steem this time around and this i have done to whoever that I am previllaged to meet both during Campaign and at other leisure time. This is in fact the most basic and effective way to promote steem as I am available to give answer to every question that is thrown to me. Those who listened are also at ease , knowing that they are dealing with a real person who is in the system. You can never imagine how I too usually feel presenting this opportunity to them confident that what had brought to them is the real thing. Seeing the smiles in most faces and how they listen with keen gives me joy.

Did you use any Promotional materials and branding? (fliers, Branded Tshirts, Banners, etc)

An effective Promotional activities must be accompanied by promotional activities like the ones mentioned above. I have been using all, both fliers, branded t-shirts and banners to promote steem. But for the Promotion I did for this last 2 days, I used both fliers and branded t-shirts.

These are our trade marks. We are in for serious business. Promoting Steem with these materials shows that we in existence and not just audio. I personally like going out wherever I am going with fliers and as well on my steemit t-shirts. Most people are attracted to the t-shirt and they always ask what it is all about. Like whenever am going out for workout, I always go on my steemit jersey and steemit face cap. I have done a lot of presentations as well because I am always asked what it is each time I wear them. So promotional materials are best to to accompany any Promotional activities. The pictures below show the branded t-shirts, fliers and face cap

How did people respond to your promotion efforts?

The response has always been mixed. Some pay keen attention to the massage while others did not.

I met with people who paid attention to my sermons and who asked questions about steemit. I am personally not worried about how people respond initially because every successful person takes time to ponder over what he has heard when a business opportunity is presented to them.those who rush in most times rush out before you know it. And as such, I love it when people listen, accept fliers or contact cards and promise to go through them.

So basically, those I spoke to gave me attention, some promised to think about it, some signed up and some simply went their way after listening without any word to me, while some as well objected.

What are the main challenges that hinder users from joining?

Steemit is not a get rich quick platform and as such those who want quick money doesn't find it interesting to join steemit because there is no such promised as imediately you join, you will earn billions of cash. Most in this category do not prefer growing a business but earning massively from the start while they ignore the dangers of such types of get rich quick businesses even when they had been hit severally.

Most people in my locality prefer offline businesses that they can see and touch and according to them, when they don't make profit they will better understand it. They have really not come in terms with online methods of businesses and they are not aware of opportunities that it can bring to them. And as such anything online us not for them. They may listen to you during presentation and at the end still dismiss you and your presentation with such reason

Still others are not comfortable with anything that connects with cryptocurrencies. Even when you try hard to explain to them that it is as good as the conventional cash they are aware of, they are not interested.

Most don't fancy writing at all. To them, it is like going back to school which they are not interested in. They don't care about the monetization of their contents, nor are they ready and willing to be guided on how to post. They prefer such social medias as Facebook where they can just send their photos and off they go.

Where you able to sign up new users? If yes, how did you convince them to join?

Yes, I was able to sign two persons up during these two days of my Campaign. They are the people I had spoken to about steemit, who went home with the fliers and they called that they want to hear more about steemit. I invited them over to my steemit office where I then gave them more indebt explanation that eventually led to their joining steemit.

I simply explained the basics that they need at present. Steemit on its on is an on the job training. You learn as you join and proceed with your steemit Journey. I told them about the monetization of their original contents, I told them about the achievement programs that will enable them understand steemit the more, I told them the importance of engaging with others to build audience. They were comfortable with my explanations and that moved them to join

What are the main challenges you faced during Steem Promotion

I didn't face any Challenge during my steemit promotion especially these two days. The only thing I will call challenge is not signing them all up imediately but that wouldn't guarantee success. Like I said earlier, I prefer those who will like to sleep over what they heard because those ones usually sign up and stay.

Another thing I will say that it is a challenge is guiding them to write their introduction post but these ones didn't give me headache. I simply explained to them, opened the guidelines by @cryptokannon and as well open the introduction post written by another user and tell them to write theirs and they were ready and willing to complete the post without much from me. So to me it is fun. There is always joy within me when someone willingly say I an willing to join and write my first post. That joy kills whatever challenge that I don't count anything as a challenge at all.

I used to encounter those who said they don't have smart phones or internet connection but I didn't encounter such thus time.

Suggest ways we can overcome challenges to Steem Promotion.

First, condition your mind that not everyone will listen to you or act positively after your presentation. This will spare you the worries of being disappointed when they refuse to sign up.

Secondly, present steemit the way it is. Do not exaggerate anything in the name of joining steemit. It is not a get rich quick platform and that is the truth, however, those who are consistent earns as they continue. Help them understand that earnings are only gotten when they post or curate and not when they haven't done anything.

Encourage and guide them continuously and help them understand that there are a lot of people that have succeeded and so will they. Present the content creation as something fun and not one kind of school that they have to enroll in.

Don't complain about your own challenges but always be positive. And please, let them know that joining steemit is free. A lot if people are looking for where to start their life from. They already may have met with so many failed businesses. Steemit can be the answer to the prayers they have been offering since.

Above all, do not give up hope on anyone. And do not conclude in your mind that certain persons can not join steemit. There is always positive responses in the end. Be yourself and smile while you approach people.

Study, read and understand how steemit works so that you can easily pass the information across. There is no other magic to it. Always go out with one promotional material or the other with you and represent steemit wherever you go.
