I hope you all are doing fine. I welcome you all to this writing challenge, today I will be writing on some unhealthy foods that needs to be avoided.

Eating healthy foods is very important to human health because it helps the body in so many ways but this foods can also be harmful to the body when they are consumed excessively. Today I will be writing on some healthy foods that we need to avoid and they are listed below.
Junk Foods

This are foods that are said to lack nutrients like vitamins,fibre, minerals etc and contains a high level of salt,fats and sugar that affects human health broadly.
Some examples of junk foods are;
- Chocolate and sweets
- Sugary drinks
- Cakes
- Processed meat etc
Harmful effects of Junk Foods
- It can lead to obesity
- It can cause heart problems like cardiovascular disease
- It causes tooth decay
- It brings about difficulty in sleeping etc
Mushroom

This are edible fungus that is umbrella-shaped and are rich proteinous and antioxidant plants/food. They are said to have vitamins that is good to human but there are different species of it and some are deadly.
Before consuming a picked/bought mushroom you should be able to differentiate the nutritious and the deadly once. Just as some mushrooms are so nutritious some of the species are also seen as a fast killer that kills just within an interval of 2hrs.
Sugar

This is a type of carbohydrates that occurs naturally in some foods and now they are addictive in certain drinks and food. Many healthy foods contain sugar in them and the sugar helps to sweeten them but some manufacturers has added sugar to food such as cake, cereals etc. It is this added sugar that is not good for the health.
Unlike those natural foods that contain sugar,the once with added sugar has no nutritive value in them rather they are a poor energy source because the body digest added sugar very quick.
Harmful effects of sugar
Tooth cavity:After the consumption of added sugar,some bacterias that are in our mouths tends to form a thin layer of plague in the teeth. This bacterias react with the sugars in the food we consume and empowers the acid that damages the teeth.
Lack of nutritional value:Adding sugar to the food we consume increases their calorie content without adding any nutritional benefits.

A balanced diet is a diet that provides the body with different nutrients it needs to work effectively. A diet is said to be balanced when has the following components in it:
- Carbohydrates
- Protein
- Vitamins and minerals
- Water
- Fats etc
Benefits of balanced diet
- It helps one to remain healthy
- It lessens the risk of being ill
- It helps to boost the immune system etc
The following foods are said to be healthy because they contains varieties of nutrients and they are:
- fruits
- vegetables
- meat/fish
- eggs etc
Conclusion
Reading the nutritional information of a meal helps one to make a healthy food choices. So, therefore we should learn how to read them so we don't consume unhealthy foods
