Incapable

I am no longer home alone. My son is back and we both feel tired can be it's due to the weather or it's hard to get into a certain rhythm. This morning we visited the market and later I'll do the dishes, or not. If not they won't be gone in the morning.
The cat stays in the box in the hallway, not in the mood to get out. It seems as if the day(light) hurts him and perhaps the "noise" we make does too (never TV, never radio on but it is never silent either).

The weather wasn't great

but students of European high schools and universities, Turkey included, were present at the Eco-Shell Marathon 2024 (no car was spotted from Africa). The idea is to build an economical car and the car driving the most meters on the circuit wins.

Not the driving but the journey was exhausting and... annoying mainly because it was all a last-minute job. The first days a part of the group did with less than 2 hours sleep.
Although they registered online they still had to arrive at the registration in Nagaro. Six arrived in time and next waited nearly 4 hours in the pouring rain till the rest of the group arrived with the car and the tents.
The next days were filled with tests, repairments, briefings, and walking the circuit and one meal was the max and this wasn't the best meal there was.

After they arrived and waited in the pouring rain, carried their tents and stuff uphill at the end of the campsite, and put down the tents it was midnight. The first who'd arrived hadn't eaten yet and decided to cook. Right after they finished the teacher who was one of the official team leaders showed up. He decided to book a room with his wife.
The meal was not what he'd expected from it and he had a lot to complain. _Man how dare you! _ With a face like he's sucking a lemon he ventilated on the students from that night one on those rare occasions he showed his face.

The marathon is over and before three had to leave, my son, the head mechanic and the one who made the engine. It feels a bit bitter to see how on the way back there is time to pause elsewhere than on the highways only. Pictures of a blue sea, eating at a restaurant are shown and I wonder what about these three who made this happen and had to leave earlier to do their examen.

Will the rest of the group have forgotten the bad experience, the incapable teacher alias selfish team coach now they had a better drive back. It's what I fear and that my son will be the only one telling the principal how badly organised and treated the students have been. A teacher who will say: This is what I achieved, even though he was rarely present.
