Legacy of Shadows: The Rise of Oliver Twist
Introduction |
---|
Robin Hood has been released on parole for good behavior after been caught for trying to steal the crown jewels from the queen of England. He got out looking so frail and the city he once knew, filled with horse and swordsmen, was now a world of fast cars and technology.
A lot had changed while he was locked away except for corruption. It has merely evolved. The elite or political class don’t need to do the dirty work themselves. They just sat on their high horses , sign a paper and every other thing will fall into place.
Robin couldn’t exactly fit into this new society, so he was absorbed into the police force to help tracked down criminals that have been evading arrest for years. He felt out of place in his new job because His skills had once been used to outwit the rich and corrupt, to fight for the oppressed. Among the criminals, he was helping the police to track down, There was one person Robin Hood picked interest in after reading his criminal record and His name was ”Oliver twist”.
Oliver Twist grew up in an orphanage but because of his poor background, the city rejected him and his kind. This made getting a decent job a big challenge, coupled with the corruption going on in workplaces. Oliver Twist chose to live the life of a thief, the day his best friend from the orphanage died because the hospital won’t admit him without depositing any money. He became a nightmare to the police and gradually rose to the most wanted man in the country.
Robin Hood saw himself in this young man, the same rebellious spirit that had once driven him. Each time the police comes to arrest him, he gives him anonymous tips ahead of time to escape. Oliver Twist had know idea, who was helping him from the police quarters but was grateful about it and begged to meet with the person.
Finally they met and Oliver was excited to see it was the famous Robin Hood. Everyone thought he died in prison. Robin Hood took Oliver under his wings and trained him in ways to outsmart the authorities. Together they became a formidable force with Oliver using his internet skills to steal from the corrupt politicians and redistributing it in the shadows, to help orphanages. This bond was short lived because Robin Hood later died due to old age.
Now that Robin was no more, to give Oliver inside knowledge, the authorities was closing in on him and the pressure was mounting. While Oliver sat at his hide out, reminiscing the good old days with his master and scanning police frequencies, with the radio Robin Hood gave to him, he heard a knock on the door!
Oliver was shocked, no one knows this hide out apart from Robin. Who could be the person at the door? Oliver grabbed his gun, head straight to the door cautiously and opened the door slowly. Only for him to see a strange guy. He was wondering if he was lost… when he told him,
“I know who you are, Oliver Twist and I know all that Robin Hood have been doing for you”.
Oliver pointed his gun on his forehead and threatened to shoot him, if he doesn’t start explaining himself now and how he knew his boss!!
”My name is Professor and I worked with your boss. Time is know longer on our side. We have to leave this place now. The police have already found out your hiding spot and they are closed by now. I will explain everything to you as we go on the way…..”
Oliver was confused, whether to trust this new stranger or not but he didn’t have any choice because Robin Hood at some point in his training had talked about this man called “The Professor”.
Oliver lowered his gun and followed him to his car! Before the police would come, they had escaped.
Oliver still in his curious state of mind, asked him…..
”I know you are a police officer, why are you helping me?”
“Because corruption isn’t just among the rich and powerful as you have always thought. It’s also in the very system we’re supposed to uphold and you’re the only one who has what it takes to bring that corrupt structure down. The only way to stay long on the street, especially now that Robin is no more, is through me because I’m the only insider you got!”
“What do I do for you?” Oliver asked the professor.
“We take down the real criminals together and this time, no more stealing for personal gains. We fight for something more bigger now.”
Oliver thought of the risky offer been placed on the table but with what he has been going through this past few years without his mentor around and how the police are on his tail, he had to accept the offer!
“I accept!” Oliver replied..
“Then I will introduce you to my crew that have worked with me over the years: Tokyo, Denver, Helsinki, Nairobi and Rio once we get to the safe house. Each of them are skilled in their own unique way and to pull this off, you guys will need to work as a unit.”
That day marked the beginning of a new era. An era that will shake the foundation of the city. With the professor, feeding them information from the inside, their targets remained the corrupt politicians and elites who held the city at ransom from behind close doors.
Though Robin Hood is no more , his legacy still remained and the fight for justice will always prevail..

Oliver has always been a name for a very adventurous person, your story highly reminds me of Oliver Twist, a young boy with so much courage.
Back to your words here, I must say that Oliver seems to be lucky to have the professor by his side. This has shown me that Oliver's freedom can never be taken from him, because if that's the case then he won't have gotten a person like Robinhood and the professor, without then Oliver would have been arrested a very long time ago.
The admin is right, the story is long and in your own opinion you are saying is difficult to cut it short.
I think some parts in the beginning are unnecessary.
Your pictures are too much and it made me wonder if I was reading a story for kids. Bro your story will be more interesting if your readers are imagining how your characters look like 😊.
Allow us to imagine this while reading, don't show us, lol. Above all, is a unique story but I wasn't ok with the way you ended it but you tried.
#wewrite
I agree with your analysis,
Oh really 🤭, the story made me talk alot. Thanks for the upvote.
Thank you brother… I do appreciate the feed back. I got some idea from your post and @marito74 post and I’m thinking of re-writing this again.
Even kitty had given me some clue on what to do to make it more shorter..
Oh you want to rewrite again? Is that allowed. I guess you should write the fable story instead.
If you still want to talk about Oliver and Robinhood it is ok but changing the story won't be nice. Remember the comments on that post.
This time.. is off the contest!! Just want to give it a second trial with the few tips I’ve gotten now..
Ok
you can post your second version in freewriters. I like to see what you make out of it. @saintkelvin17 is right it's time for the fable and the film review
Hi, I have always liked the story of Robin Hood and have seen many of his versions, I like this one with a modern approach, good point kid.Hood's ward, I love that the legacy continues and he continues to fight to help the underdog.
But now with a team, like a big family, it's exciting, did you think of another twist for this hero...let's see give me a hint haha.
I liked reading this and I share it

Wordcount 50+ : Yes / No
Human written: Yes / No
Remark: A crime story of 550 words with a prompt is asked. I wonder if you have a tip for @sbamsoneu how to do this.
🍀♥️
Hahahahahahaha😂😂😂
I really need the tips… I tried to use ChatGPT to reduce it but they removed the best part of the story!!
Remove the start and the end - parts that are obvious... too much explaining, you used famous characters plus we know what corrupt is so... where's the crime and leave open how Robin died.
Is Oliver the killer, is the professor the one, the police or did Robin trip over a piece of paper and hit his head against the wall?
You see d reason, why I enjoy you as my moderator…. You always have “corrections”, that can guide me!
Thank you.. I’m doing it right away!!
Yes, you are doing it right anyway 🤣
Are you still drugged?
@wakeupkitty, I like @sbamsoneu's style, I know that writing a story based on established aspects may not be easy for everyone but he tried, he has his own style and it made me smile, his story moved me.
Friend @sbamsoneu, something that works for me is the timer, use it, then you can fix it a little. Don't go overboard with the decorations. You had to keep in mind the healer, the piece of paper and the police touch. Maintain the expectation, imagine that you are the reader.
These are great advices and you know if he deletes parts of his story (too many words) most likely it shows and the paper can be dropped somewhere.
♥️🍀
After reading the link u sent about the origin of Robin Hood, it shows that you even know more about him than I do and I won’t mind collaborating with you to complete the story..😊😊
did you leave the links of your comments in your posts? Please, check the wordcount and if you added the hashtag. Don't forget to upvote.
Robin Hood is one of the stories in the 14th century. He is one of the heroes for the poor. He does not like corrupt governments and he wants to provide help to anyone who needs it, even his life is at stake.
Robin Hood is gone, but his figure still exists in modern times. However, a heart like that may be very rare, even if it is a crime above good, many people will support him...
Evil above good of course will not provide good benefits in the end...
This story is too famous and his figure is known as a hero,... Oh Robin Hood...
A great comment dear. It's good to read you.
It's always questionable what a good deed is and when corrupt starts. Robin was called a hero but not by everyone. The reason given makes robbery a good act?
Is poverty a reason to steal or was it a fight against the ruler? If that was the case why not made that guy swallow enough paper he would choke and die?
I like Disney's version though, such a cry baby that greedy prince is. 🤣 That snake is awesome hissing in his ear. Cry-baby- prince is an animal abuser though and clearly feels more man if he picks on the plebs/servants.
#wewrite & #comment how about you?
Kitty!! I can’t really tell if Robin Hood story was real or fictional but let’s assume you were existing in that time, you might have a contrary opinion…
Who knows you might be his female version..😊😊
In this our dispensation, no one has any reason to steal despite the challenges. We have a lot especially the internet that could make life a bit easy!
It is based on a real story but the version we know today? Most likely it was a rebel fighting against the English crown. He didn't win - look at the present king a man whose sex life and letters been published and it's still not clear who killed Diana who was pregnant.
Would I stand with Robin? It depends but from the modern pictures painted I see him more like a freedom lover, a don Juan than a man fighting for justice. Disney might have spoiled the vision.
If I was around I lived with that prince and had to hear his complaints, whimpering while I was thinking of a recipe to make that guy stop talking. I brew something.
Perhaps a coin in his throat is enough 🤔

All I know is This is taken from a true story... I think we need to ask robin hood, is he willing to be interrogated? 🤣
In the plot of the story there is always a hero and a criminal, while the poor/servants are just victims of the simulation,... Uphold truth and justice, ninja hatori.... 💪🤣

Bonus reason:
Me encantó leerte. Suerte.

This is just the irony of life.
There are sometimes circumstances might force you to do something you’re not proud of and judging from the few movie I’ve watched on Robin Hood, I can’t judge him because he was more like a hero during that oppressive government
You can come back @sbamsoneu to comment on two more stories they are there if you use the hashtag you see them
#wewrite or #wewrite04
Note: you wrote a few time "know" instead of "no".
I like how you combined different stories of characters we know. unlike your title I don't see anyone arise or a crime happen.
Interesting might have been if Robin died unexpectedly. He was the one who passed the messages and it could have left the reader thinking if Robin was killed or did die of high age.
The professor arrived out of the blue with a team? Personal gain? I read it nowhere but I do wonder who pays the team if they earn nothing.
If it comes to the pictures: It can be great to use some but those of your chouce don't do your story any good.
Robin and Oliver change looks and Robin changed from a black man into an old white guy. My advice is to not use pictures to break your story line especially not if those we see attract the attention.
Wordcount: 973 - asked 550
I wonder which parts of the story you would delete to tell the same and give is a boost
Prompt: did you notice the prompt mentioned?
#wewrite & #comment
I found your story entertaining but know the timing of the characters lived (understandably according the original works of the story writers) it seems like your characters must have time machine to be able to meet each other. Probably it would be a connecting chain that would be necessary to make the story flow better :)
Hahaha… you just cracked me up with the “time Machine” 😂😂😂
Thanks for the feedback and I’ll do more better next time.
I also want to appreciate you @stef1 for the upvote.
Thank you!
