Steemit Engagement Challenge S9-W5: "Seeing is believing" versus "Knowing is believing" by @oadissin
Greetings,
How are you, dear content creators and curators on the Steemit platform?
As part of the current challenge, Steemians were asked to share their views on two different concepts: "Seeing is believing" and "Knowing is believing". I will do my best to explain to the readers different aspects that unite or contradict these two interesting ways of thinking of a person.
My understanding of "Seeing is believing" and "Knowing is believing".
"Seeing is believing" has a meaning that implies that a person can only believe something that he perceives with his senses, relying mainly on his perception.
"Knowledge is belief" is simply explained by the fact that belief comes from knowledge or understanding.

Give an example of "Seeing is Believing" vs. "Knowing is Believing"
"Seeing is believing" is an expression used in situations where a friend is skeptical about something and needs concrete evidence to believe it. I know a popular situation that can illustrate "seeing is believing". I am going to share with you a short story to explain. My friend came into my living room and told me and the family he has seen an unidentified flying object. The entire household did not believe his story at first, but we all lost our thoughts to oppose him when he showed photographs and footage of the event.
On the other hand, "Knowing is Believing" is used in situations where someone believes in something even if they cannot see it with their own eyes. Faith allows believers to accept the existence of a higher power without requiring concrete evidence. This case can be illustrated as a situation where believers in the existence of God even though there is no concrete evidence of His existence.
The contrast between "seeing is believing" and "knowing is believing" depends not only on perspective but also on context. To illustrate, I take the case of a scientist who believes in the basic natural facts described in the Holy Book of Christianity. The believing scientist has contributed to the development of a considerable amount of the modern technology we have in our society. However, the same faith in the words of the Creator may also have led to the destruction of all-too-early brilliant ideas that are considered hostile to religion. Thus, faith plays a crucial role in religious belief and the development of science, but cannot be a reliable basis for knowledge without evidence and argument.
What is the moral message that can be taken from "seeing is believing" and "knowing is believing"?
The moral message is defined as the process of acquiring information to solidify our beliefs. In other words, each person should thoroughly conduct their research to uncover the truth through observation and documentation. Subsequently, individuals should approach situations with an open mind and a willingness to learn and understand.
In conclusion, the description of the two concepts, "Seeing is believing" and "Knowing is believing," shows the belief system can offer diverse possibilities. This virtual separation between the two concepts is just a personal challenge and willingness to open our minds to different views. Steemians are encouraged to reflect upon the diverse ways in which beliefs are formed and the importance of critical thinking in the pursuit of truth and understanding. By embracing a balanced approach that combines fundamental evidence, knowledge, and an open mind, Steemians can peacefully reach the truth. The truth seeker can foster a deeper appreciation for the complexities of the world.

Thank you
Very much
