Humanitarian Action Contest - Be a Giver| Your actions will make someone smile

Humanity is not just being helpful to others. It's also being kind or appreciating others. If you can give a smile on someone's face that's worth more than anything. We are in a period that, which this concept should be more promoted. Most part of the world is suffering from global problems. Inflation, war, scarcity in food, quality water, and resources, natural problems, etc. And people are running and running behind money without caring anything else.

So, as responsible persons, we have to do our part to spread love, peace, and rise as a team. Big salute to @amryksr for organizing this contest and to World Smile Project for taking this concept in to the next level.

I am organizing an annual charity program for a nearby children's home with my school friends for 3 years now. I have shared my experience in the last two years also, 2020, 2021.

So, this year also we went there with our love a few days ago. So, here I will be sharing about that.

Meth Sewa Foundation

This is a home for around 150 kids for more than 5 years now. I am not willing to describe them as disabled, they are differently-abled children. Some of them were abandoned by their parents. I have huge respect for the pioneer of this foundation. Because at the start, he kept a few kids in his home and looked after them. But then with the support of well-wishers, normal people, and organizations he developed this to the next level without expecting anything. But for sure, he collects a lot of merit for his next life.

Now there are a number of buildings and staff around 10, to look after of these kids. Because some are not in a good physical state for their daily routines individually. You can see that from my last posts too.

Meth Sewa Foundation: ///flip.hive.profound is located in the Handapanagala area, Wallawaya, Sri Lanka. As in the picture, they keep this place very pleasant.

This time, we got to prepare breakfast. Like the last year, we didn't have a big collection. As Sri Lanka is going through a rough phase, we couldn't ask for money. So, we collected around Lkr. 30,000 (around 90 dollars), which was enough for food and dessert. Actually, 2 years ago, we could get a bunch of things for that money. But inflation sucks here.

We prepared string hopper, dhal curry, chicken curry, pol sambal, and banana and cupcake for the dessert. We started to make things from around 4.00a.m and went there by 07.00 O clock.

There were around 130 kids there. Some can eat on their own, so we served them with separate plates. And staff members feed some kids. All the necessary plates, and spoons. So, no need to worry about that.

They really enjoy the meal. Even ask several times. They want to chat with us. Actually, it's very difficult to resist there without crying. A very sensitive moment. Without having opportunities/ freedom like other kids, we can still see innocent smiles on their faces. They are trying to enjoy their lives in their own way. They just need love and affection. My heart always gets ached every time I am there.

They provide a certificate as a symbol of their gratitude.

Here for this, the government hardly intervenes or contributes. But the generous people around are always around this foundation to keep these kids smiling. And there is a good fund now with them from all around the world.

Actually, after the first time, I strongly got the feeling that I will continue this annually no matter what. Because the smile of those kids is hard to forget. This situation is same for the innocent kids all around the world. They have become victims most of the time, even without seeing the beauty of this world.
