Let's raise awareness | A call to steemcurator teams in the community
This week I finished my fourth watch with the account steemcurator05, being this my first month as curator of the community. I have no idea if I will be re-elected again but for a long time I wanted to share this opinion, I clarify before that it is not an imposition, nor a demand but a recommendation and a call to conscience and I do it in this community in the hope that other users and curators read it.
Steemcurator accounts are a project that came to Steemit in 2020, all are accounts created with the purpose of supporting the various content creators from many countries. They all have a voting power of over 500,000 Steem Power and there are 9 such accounts in order to maximize the number of people supported by these curator accounts.
Because if you only wanted to support a small group of people there would only be steemcurator01 and maybe steemcurator02 and that's it....
Since last year, a position of trust was given to create curation teams, each one formed by 7 members with the purpose of having a wide range of content that users want to share. For a few months each team had special and specific tags to grant votes which worked quite well (except for one or two irregularities and sometimes abuse of power).
Of course steemcurator01 decides whether it meets quality standards and is worthy of support. Nothing is guaranteed.
However, for months there has been a lot of "bias" on the part of those who operate some accounts, this in terms of the selection of content that receives support, communities, countries and even users who are added to the weekly report as it has been witnessed how many give priority to their countries and even their fellow community moderators.
Some voters even name each other when creating the top of the week. Sometimes it even looks like an agreement.
That is called bias. Sure, maybe if a post really stands out among the other 20 or 25 visited posts it can be given a chance, but you shouldn't put a fellow countryman on the top every week, let alone a fellow moderator or friend. If his posts are really good any other curator can also vote for him and then reach the top without any help.
We should always remember that in any important and trusted post, friends should be treated as just another person and show no preference for anyone.
The truth for me is sad sometimes to visualize in some of these reports as they are uploaded partners and friends of the same curators and even very often (and I know I'm not the only one who has noticed it).
Of course it all depends on the circumstances, for example in Team 2 I had the opportunity to expand my voting and visit publications from France, Italy, Ghana and countries far away. And Sc04, sc06, sc07 and sc08 accounts can do the same.
But for example the Millionaire Team does not have the same range, its scope is more limited and often they have no more than 8 contests in a day and if a colleague uploads a contest that stands out among the others, he can be given a chance (but without uploading more than 2 times a month to colleagues). Then it becomes a little more understandable to support colleagues as long as their contests are of high quality.
When support priority is given to the curators' friends, it is often not possible to vote for posts that are perhaps much more outstanding and deserving of support. This often causes users to become demotivated and not want to continue sharing quality content.
And obviously, if a community curator has already voted for you, another one cannot vote for you. Therefore this loses the opportunity to be selected to the top.
I'm not asking with this post to remove anyone from their position because that decision is not mine to make, but I do ask to take a bit of conscience regarding the matter and always remember the rules that Steemitblog leaves us as curators:
"Curators will not endorse any specific tag, curators should look for quality content. "
And that should be done without giving priorities to anyone. It is true that we all would love to support friends from our country and community to the fullest for them to grow, but it should not be something exclusive. I'm sure if Steemitblog wanted that then they would select a steemcurator account for each country or continent and let each team vote as they see fit for their countrymen and even teammates.
In Steemit there is a lot of quality content that is sometimes ignored for having "priorities", that makes great talented users become demotivated and stop betting on quality. Let's support if we always support our friends we will never advance as a platform.

Y no solo porque tu lo digas, sino que es un comentario que lo he leído en otros grupos y se desaniman y dejan la plataforma.
Yo soy una que me alegro como todos cuando nos llega un voto de los grandes SC, también de los pequeños, booming pero no puedo aspirar que todos los post míos sean votados, hay muchos steemian esperando ese apoyo y seguir, eso los anima.
Como digo y siempre repetiré lo bueno seria también cosa que se ve muy poco es que los post queden en 0,00 eso si es deprimente, pero no se ve mucho como antes.
Por eso yo todo lo sumo, le doy valor y cuenta.

Hola @yonaikerurso admiro esta iniciativa de expresar tu sentir respecto al manejo inadecuado de estas cuentas y espero no sea obstáculo para que seas elegido nuevamente sino todo lo contrario porque los usuarios necesitamos seguir confiando en Steemit y si estas irregularidades suceden es muy triste,lamentable.
Steemit es una plataforma excelente a la que tengo mucho cariño y agradecimiento,de corazón deseo que esto se solucione,gracias por esta publicación.

Se han creado normas, etiquetas, clubes, cuentas curadoras, solo para tenernos a merced de crecer de manera limitada, mientras algunas cuentas de países asiáticos obtienen votos astronómicos diarios de hasta 600 $, osea en dos días estas cuentas ganan 1 delfín, mientras que para nosotros ridículamente necesitas hasta 2 años para lograrlo.
Esta plataforma esta cada día en decadencia y no es gracias a que no tiene suscriptores, o no creamos contenido de calidad, es gracias a estas estúpidas reglas que solo nos encapsula a nosotros.
Steemit ojala vuelva a ser como antes, aunque por el camino que va no lo creo.
Y tienes mucha razón, tambien he podido ver reportes con los mismos actores como elegidos.
Thank you for sharing your opinion about steemcurators. Yes, the aim was to support those users who didn't get much support from Sc01 or Sc02 accounts. There are still many hard-working users who didn't get support as most users prioritize supporting their community posts, their country users, and even their friends. But it's not limited that you can't support your country fellows, you can support them if you think they have shared quality content but still, no one supports them. I hope this time-wise and good users will be selected as community curators.
