pledge to Nigeria my Country Nigeria is a country in West Africa, the most populated known as the 'Giant of Africa'. Nigeria my country became independent in October Ist, 1960 and such, presently, Nigeria is 62 years of age. I cannot really say we are where we suppose to be with the economic hardship and insecurity all around, but one thing stands, and that is... There are thing that i am grateful to about .y country, they include: Our way of life Mode of dressing Music & dance African dishes Our way of life: Nigerians are such homely people. This particular characteristics interest me a whole deal. They are receptive to everyone, including foreingners. Little wonder they feel so at home when they visit Nigeria, making them to make more frequent visits. We live a simple and fun life, holding on to our rich cultural heritage. Simply put it, our culture is our pride. Different tribes in Nigeria pay attention to their individual culture, which involves languages and other things bonding that tribe as one. Mode of dressing: Nigerians have distinct mode of dressing and a Nigerian always most likely love to show off his identity by wearing our beautiful wax print material called 'Ankara' normally sewn into lovely styles. Our Nigerian laces are also worn during traditional occasions like traditional marriages, festivals, naming ceremonies and burials. Music & dance: Music and dance has lived with Nigerians as far back as time itself, it is historic in Nigeria, as many great artist have risen from this country, we have legends like the late Fela Anikulapo, Victor Waifo, Christiana igbokwe and our great hip-hop and pop stars like Asa, PSquare, 2face Idibia, Wizkid, Davido, Burnaboy e.t.c who have gained international recognition across the globe. Magic dancers like Kaffy and others who are incoming. A blend of our traditional dance like the Ekombi Efik dance, yoruba dance, igbo dance steps, is the highlight of it all to the delight of viewers. African Dishes: There are over 200 native /traditional dishes in Nigeria. Outsiders troupe in and out of the country just to have a taste of these special delicacies which are prepared with ingredients purchased from the local markets. Some Nigerian dishes are; Amala and ewedu soup, Afang soup, Efo riro, Ofe nsala, ekpankukwo and our signature Nigerian jollof. 📍Of all the things i have mentioned above, the distinct attributes i prefer my country for over other countries is the traditional meals, richly prepared with fine ingredients. The meals are healthy and very delicious. 📍If eventually i happen to leave Nigeria in search of greener pastures, i will be definitely willing to come back. Yes, this is true that many people travel out of their beloved country to other countries of the world and forget their own country completely, this is quite sad, as they seldom return or never return at all. The truth still stands, no matter how much ills is upon my country Nigeria, even if i go to the moon, i never get the warmth Nigeria gives me, the way the sun caresses my skin, the noise, the buzz and wild laughter, indeed...

To be faithful, loyal and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
To defend her unity
And uphold her honour and glory
So help me God.

Nigeria is a beautiful country. I have Nigerian friends during my postgraduate studies and to be honest, they are friendly and do not discriminate when you need help. They have giving attitude to the extent that my friends could even borrow just to satisfy someone in need.
