It's a fresh week with fresh opportunities. The past three weeks has been awesome,I think awesome is an understatement. We have been hopping from one interesting and engaging topic to another . This week contest seems to be the climax of it all because the topic to be discussed is one that we all seem to resonate with. Without taking much of our time,I will like to delve into the business of the day.

Introduction

Steemit has been an amazing platform so far. I will continue to bless the day I was introduced to this platform. A lot of transformation has happened to me since I joined and am sure it's the same with many active users here on this platform. There is really alot to talk about in this post but I will do well to follow the suggested guideline given for quality entry which I've clearly followed below. Let's enjoyed the ride.

How well is Steemit known in your Country? Do you think it's popular enough or there is a need for more publicity?

I won't be wrong to say the highest number of active users on steemit are from my country Nigeria. If after careful analysis we don't come out as number one on the list then we should be among the top 5. This is to tell you that there are a lot of Nigerians on this platform actively creating educative and informative content. Nevertheless there is still need for more promotion to get people aware of what we do here on the platform. Nigeria has a way of adding live to anything they are involved in,the more Nigerians we have on the chain,the better steemit becomes. Do I need to clear more of your doubt? Smiles....of course I will. There are so many great folks doing really great on the platform and it will interest you to know that most of them are Nigerians. Let me not bore us with their names,I know you know them...smiles.

What are the ways you think the promotion of Steemit can be more effective in your Country? This can include special projects you have in mind.

The means adopted presently are working really fine but if we are not innovative about the methods we use in promoting steemit then we won't be able to onboard many on the long run. I will like to mention some key ways to onboard new users, although my concern has not always been to onboard users,my challenge had been about retaining users. I have personally onboarded so many people but not all of them remained some left and the reason was glaring. Let me go straight into my method of promotion.

• School Sensitization (Tertiary institution)

Sensitization in schools to me is a well targeted kind of promotion. I believe the youth and young peopld spend a lot of time with their phones, surfing the internet for reasons ranging from educational purposes, entertainment, chatting and the likes. Tertiary institution are dominated by these youths. Some of them really have nothing productive to do after lectures,infact most of them are seriously in need of side hustle which they feel will help take care of their basic needs. Telling them about steemit will be a huge blessing especially when they know it's a zero investment platform and that they are going to earn while they blog about things they do on daily basis such as dairies and contest.

• Sponsored Ads

This is a sure way to let people know about what you do. Business has thrived and flourish with sponsored ads and that because it different from the normal way you do them on social media. Sponsored ad are really pushed very hard on platforms like Facebook and Instagram because money is involved in using this medium of promotion. In other words,we can use centralized platforms like Facebook and Instagram to push and promote steemit,a decentralized social media platform. It will only cost you a token i.e one can use #5000 which is equivalent to about 50 steems to reach out to....say 7000 people even from your country. That's the good thing about sponsored ads,it is also a targeted kind of add.

• One on one conversation

Personally,this has worked again and again. It's the good old method that has never failed. People love to see real people with real experiences. When you meet someone especially in my country nigeria and tell the person you know of a platform that pays you for doing something, he will ask you "have you withdrawn from the platform" and that's because he just want to be sure and if you're very sure of what you're promoting just like steemit,you will win such person instantaneously because you have proof. All you need do is to show the person your blog and how much you've earned from it including other benefits in kind such as priceless relationships and the likes.

• Promo shirt and materials

This also goes a long way in making steemit known in our neighborhood. Come to think of it,why do you think MTN will give a free shirt,pen,book,cap and the likes with their brand name boldly written on it,they are trying to promote their brand and more than just promoting it,they also want the brand to remain in the people's subconscious. That anytime they think of a mobile network it's their brand that comes to mind. If we can get these things in place,it will give us the same result these other brand are getting and even beyond,such that when they think of social media platform,it is steemit that comes to mind. The use of fliers and banner also fall into this category.

Do you think Steemit would be adopted more in your country if the points you listed above are implemented?

Steemit will see massive adoption in my Country Nigeria if these measures are adopted, nevertheless I have one recommendation to make here which I believe will perfect this promotional activity because without it we will have a lot of new dormant users like I said earlier,I mentioned that I have personally brought in many but some left because there was no motivation for them.
I would recommend a very handsome vote for any first timer who comes in and makes his or her introduction post this will help the person stay and also help to solve issues related to resource credit that helps the person to keep up with his or her posting and exploring activities as a newbie.

How have you contributed your quota to the development of Steemit in your community?

Steemit has been a huge blessing to me,not contributing my quota will be very bead on my path. I have promoted steemit at every given opportunity I've got and I've made several post about my promotion in the past. I still do today and most of it has been through word of mouth. My first recruit was my course mate back in school and since then I've been bringing in folks which include my brother who is also doing very fine on steemit.
I also collaborated with a very good friend of mine @olaspecial (who introduce steemit to me) to carry out school Sensitization in a bid to promote steemit in my school, a banner was made to that effect.
I also created a WhatsApp platform to mentor newbies because it can really be very complicated if you are just joining for the first time. You need to be guided. A big thanks to the newcomers community,they are really doing a good job. I know I will still come up with some ideas as time goes on.

Conclusion

We won't really stop steem promotion untill steemit becomes an household name in our country Nigeria. We will maintain and sustain the title of the most active users on steemit by promoting steemit aggressively.Thanks for your time,I hope you enjoyed the ride down here.will love to invite
