Steemit Engagement Challenge (SEC)| S12W3- "Security Matters"

Hello Steemians, I welcome you all to week 3 of the Steemit engagement challenge which is hosted here in this community that goes with the title Security Matters. I will be writing my entry in the contest as I answer the questions that come with it.

In your own words, what do you understand by the word security

To be secured means to be protected from harm. Security is one of the key features of concern for individuals as well as organizations or even nations. When we say something is secured, we mean that it is safe and can not be tampered with.

So security my point of view is the act of keeping something or someone safe from any harm. Today in the Steemit platform, we keep your accounts safe because of hackers and other fraudulent people who go around trying to steal them.

In your country, in what ways has the government been able to keep the citizens safe?

Here in Nigeria, the government has been on a guide to ensure the safety of lives and properties. Soldiers and other paramilitary are always on guide to ensure that everyone is self.

Here in Nigeria, there are checkpoints on major roads and if anyone is caught in the act of robbery or causing harm to others in the form of kidnapping, they are well dealt with and in that way, the citizens are kept safe.

Personally, what do you do for yourself or your family to be safe in your town or country?

Safety has become the sole responsibility of all in the land and in my case, I always ensure I don't go out at night and I avoid places where there is violence and places that don't look good.

In this way, I keep myself very safe from being harmed by those who seek to harm or steal from others in society. So this is one of the major ways you can be safe from any insecurity around your area.

Have you experienced or heard of any case of insecurity (robbery or kidnap)? What happened?

Yes, I have seen a case of kidnap here in my area. There was a night we heard one shot and we were told that it was kidnappers. They came to carry a woman whose husband is a bit wealthy.

We were all filled with fear because the gunshot was much in that. They didn't succeed though because the soldiers intercepted them immediately after they started the shooting. The incident left about two persons seriously injured.

What do you think is the best way to keep a home secure?

The best way to keep your home secured is by nothing allowing just everyone to come to your home and also endeavour to install CCTV camera everywhere in your house so that you can see beforehand anyone coming to your house

If your house is dancer, you can use electrical wires for more protection so that anyone who tries to go through the fence will receive a shock of their lives. This is one of the best ways to keep the home safe.
