How important is punctuality to me?
I love this topic proposed by @sahmie because I am a totally punctual person; I consider unpunctuality to be utterly disrespectful. Both being too early and being late is disrespectful to the other.
I come from a family of punctual people. My dad was one of those old-school gentlemen, you know, the kind who opens the car door, pulls up the chair, gives flowers and smells delicious. And an inherent quality in him was punctuality. He always liked to arrive about fifteen or twenty minutes before the scheduled time and he used to wait only two or three minutes to make his presence known.
Nowadays, punctuality is not part of the customs of the society in which I live and as much as I try to lift my shoulders and act crazy, trying to play it down, the truth is that it is something that bothers me a lot.
¿Cuán importante es para mí la puntualidad?
Me encanta este tema propuesto por @sahmie porque soy una persona totalmente puntual; considero que la impuntualidad es una absoluta falta de respeto. Tanto llegar demasiado temprano, como llegar tarde es irrespetar al otro.
Vengo de una familia de personas puntuales. Mi papá era un caballero de esos de la vieja escuela, ya sabes, de los que abre la puerta del coche, de los que arrima la silla, regala flores y huele delicioso. Y una cualidad inherente a él, era la puntualidad. Le gustaba llegar siempre unos quince o veinte minutos antes de la hora pautada y solía esperar a que solo faltasen unos dos o tres minutos para hacer notar su presencia.
Hoy en día, la puntualidad no forma parte de las costumbres de la sociedad en la que me desenvuelvo y por más que trato de alzar mis hombros y hacerme la loca, tratando de restarle importancia, lo cierto es que es algo que me molesta mucho.

But my mind was racing, thinking: How can she not be late if she is always wasting time on her cell phone? She would get a call and set up a meeting with a client and say "see you at nine in the morning" (and it was half past eight, for God's sake!). Then she would block the call and continue watching nonsense on her cell phone.
I would say: "boss, you have twenty minutes left for your appointment and you know where you are going, it's not close". His answer was: "yes, I'm leaving". And he had the bad habit of leaving five minutes early, when he knew that the trip to his appointment was at least twenty-five minutes.
It was the same with me. He would say to me: "I'm on my way to the office. Then I would leave my house to meet her. The distance between my house and the office was the same as the distance between her and the office. It could not take more than twenty minutes. And she would arrive more than an hour later.
En estos días escuché a mi ex jefa decir que no sabía por qué se le hacía siempre tarde y yo solo pude mirarla sin decir palabra. Pero mi mente iba a mil por hora, pensando: ¿Cómo no se le va a hacer tarde si siempre pierde tiempo en el celular? Ella recibía una llamada y cuadraba un encuentro con algún cliente y le decía "nos vemos a las nueve de la mañana" (y eran las ocho y media, por Dios!). Entonces trancaba la llamada y seguía viendo tonterías en su celular.
Yo le decía: "jefa, ya le quedan veinte minutos para su cita y usted sabe que a donde va, no es cerca". Su respuesta era: "si, ya me voy". Y tenía la mala costumbre de salir cinco minutos antes, cuando sabía que el trayecto hasta su cita era de al menos veinticinco minutos.
Así mismo era conmigo. Me decía: "Voy en camino para la oficina". Entonces yo salía de mi casa para encontrarme con ella. La distancia entre mi casa y la oficina, era la misma que la de ella y la oficina. No podía tardar más de veinte minutos. Y ella llegaba más de una hora después.

What do I understand by the expression "The early bird gets the worm"?
In my country, this expression has two variants:
" Whoever gets up early, gathers clear water".
" Whoever wakes up early, God helps him".
I think what he means is that punctuality, or being on time, gives us an advantage over others. It gives us the benefit of doing things slowly but surely, of having an advantage over others and of showing that we are proactive.
I can also cite the example that who gets up early, gets the vegetables and everything fresher at the market.
The truth is that it speaks to the importance of striving for initiative to achieve a goal.
¿Qué entiendo por la expresión “El que madruga, se lleva el gusano”?
En mi país, esta expresión tiene dos variantes:
"Quien que madruga, recoge agua clara".
"Quien que madruga, Dios lo ayuda".
Creo que a lo que se refiere, es que la puntualidad o el hecho de llegar a tiempo, nos da ventajas sobre los demás. Nos otorga el beneficio de hacer las cosas sin prisa, pero sin pausa, de llevar ventaja sobre los demás y de demostrar que somos proactivos.
También, puedo citar el ejemplo de que quién se levanta temprano, consigue los vegetales y todo más fresco en el mercado.
Lo cierto es que nos habla de la importancia de esforzarse por tener iniciativa para alcanzar una meta.
People say "Better late than never". Do I agree with this and why?
This proverb has many aspects, it does not necessarily have to do with punctuality. Of course, it is always applied by the unpunctual person: "I'm here, better late than never!
In that case, of course I don't agree. I don't like to make anyone wait, nor do I like to wait for others. Everyone's time is respected.
Now, if we approach it from the point of view of receiving something that we had been waiting for a long time and one day, it just happens. Here that expression does not bother me.
La gente dice "Más vale tarde que nunca". ¿Estoy de acuerdo con esto y por qué?
Este refrán tiene muchas aristas, no necesariamente tiene que ver con la puntualidad. Claro que la aplica siempre la persona impuntual: "¡Llegué! ¡Más vale tarde que nunca!".
En ese caso, por supuesto no estoy de acuerdo. No me gusta hacer esperar a nadie, ni yo esperar por otros. El tiempo de cada uno se respeta.
Ahora bien, si lo enfocamos desde el punto de vista de recibir algo que teníamos tiempo esperando y un día, simplemente sucede. Aquí esa expresión no me molesta.

Hola que buen contenido y las fotos me encantan aunque yo para eso de fotos no soy nada buena, pero para escribir si, me gusto el concurso voy hacer el mio.

Yo tampoco soy muy buena tomando fotos, pero saco muuuchaaasss de una misma cosa, en diferentes ángulos y la que más me gusta, esa se queda 🌼
Saludos mi estimada amiga, yo era un caso de impuntualidad horrible, pero cuando entre a la universida ahi si cambie porque llegar tarde me quedaba sin silla donde ver la clase, llegaba tarde al comedor ya no habia comida, eso entre muchas coas.
Hasta que fui cambiando el habito y la rutina despues era el numero 1 en llegar a todas partes no solo en la universidad

Jajajaja así es, quien llega más temprano o a tiempo, le va mejor en todos los aspectos.
Todo es cuestión como dices, de ir mejorando los hábitos. Poco a poco se logra el objetivo.
