Hello guys, welcome to my blog. It's my pleasure to participate in the Steemit engagement challenge of @steemithealth community for the first time.

In this week's challenge, we are discussing on the "my learning during the pandemic". But then, before I proceed I will like to give a little highlight on the pandemic.

The pandemic was a period when there was a global outbreak of an infectious disease which led to a general lock down of all countries. The pandemic introduced a new life style yo the workd, separated most families from being together, it locked businesses out of operation especially offline based business. People were subjected to suffering, poverty and hunger. Lots of families lost their loved ones either through the outbreak of the disease (Covid-19) or through hunger inflicted disease. Life was practically unbearable for so many persons especially in my country.

What do you consider to be the main lesson you learned from the pandemic?

I learnt a lot from the the whole pandemic experience.

  • The pandemic opened my eyes to see opportunities in the social media and the internet generally. It was during the pandemic that I discovered steemit and took advantage of the earning potentials here.
  • Independent Life Style: The pandemic lucked everyone out of physical communication and interaction. So I learnt to live and survive in a confined environment.
  • Another lesson I learnt was the necessity of good hygiene. It was so obvious that for one to stay clear from the covid-19 disease and some other diseases, one need to maintain a good personal hygiene. Ranging from regular washing of hands, to sanitizing the hand, to social distancing to wearing of nose mask.
  • One of the strongest lesson I learnt was having an online office as a business person. We watched several offline based businesses locked out and eventually lost their customer base to those who are in tune with the online business trend.

Did you have any loss of family or friends because of the pandemic? Can you tell us about it?

Yes i lost a friend who was involved in a protest against the government over ill treatment of the citizens, when the government refused to release the palliative that was supposed to come to the citizens due to the pandemic. He was killed by a stray bullet from the military troop. It was so terrifying , lots of Nigerian youths lost their friends and family members to death because of corrupt leaders more than the pandemic itself.

What was the most difficult moment during the pandemic?

  • Lack of funds to feed: The initial start of the pandemic was hell for me. I was doing a 9 to 5 job before the pandemic and I wasn't paid for 4 months and the pandemic broke out. It was hell because I was finding it difficult to feed and I had a younger sister living with me, whom I needed to take care of. It was all hell until I discovered steemit out of frustration and hunger.

  • Another difficult period for me was when I lost my dad at the middle of the pandemic, though he didn't die as a result of the covid-19, but had some other internal issues which would had been taken care of if there was fund, but we lost him due to lack of money for proper care. It was a painful one.

  • Wearing Of Nose Mask: Initially I found it difficult to cope with the nose mask thing. I was suffocating inside the nose mask. It took me time to adjust to it.

After all that process, do you value your health more?

Yes I do value my health so much. The pandemic opened our eyes to the adage that says "health is wealth". I have come to realize that no matter how Wealthy a man is, if his health is in joapady, he is not actually wealthy. What's the essence of wealth when one can't enjoy sound health?. With that being said I value my health. I try to maintain a proper hygiene, eat healthy food and fruits to help build my immune system against foreign bodies.

Did the pandemic impact your finances positively or negatively? How did you cope?

The pandemic impacted my finances positively. The pandemic opened my eyes to lots of things opportunities online.

  • I got to discover and take advantage of steemit during the pandemic. I was forced by hunger and frustration to surf the net for online free paying jobs and I discovered steemit at the process. Steemit was my saving grace, it sustained I and my sister that I had to introduce it to some of my friends.
  • The pandemic enhanced my skill acquisition. I met some companies and individuals online who were teaching some online courses like digital marketing and the rest, I took advantage of it and today I am a digital marketer, content creator, affiliate marketer etc.
  • The pandemic also introduced me into the crypto world. I had met a couple of friends via social media who introduced me to the crypto world proper and I had been enjoying it all.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the pandemic was a terrific experience which we do not pray to experience any more. But at the same time, it helped lots of persons like myself especially in our financial lives. I came to realize that with or without a physical office, I can make money from the very comfort of my room using my smart phone. All these knowledge I discovered during the pandemic.

I invite @spanky-dollar and @justiceanietie to come participate in this challenge

Your story during the pandemic is incredibly sad. You lose your friends until you work without being paid at all. indeed it was hard times like in hell . I read your story also feel sad. I think working without being paid is the most painful. We leave our families at home to work, but they don't Pay us a whit. You are indeed a strong woman. Always healthy for you, hopefully the pandemic won't happen again🙏

Yeah
I passed through a lot then, but I'm glad it's all a story now.
We all pray it doesn't repeat itself anymore.
Thanks for visiting.
Best regards

Thank you for the visit. Yes the suffering produced something positive in me. I knew that if I had folded my hands, I would have died of hunger, so I took advantage of the bad situation and used it to my favour.

Hi @talktofaith

The pandemic opened my eyes to see opportunities in the social media and the internet generally. It was during the pandemic that I discovered steemit and took advantage of the earning potentials here.

It is the same for me... I think it's a great opportunity we got during the time of the pandemic. We were able to discover many new areas. Now I'm glad that I made it to steemit those days... It kept my days occupied 😊
